This Week at the Nintendo Shop: Blaster Master "Rebirth"?

Did anyone even know this was coming? Sunsoft surprises everyone this morning with a WiiWare sequel to one of the (many) best games to hit the NES: Blaster Master. There's also a swath of games hitting the DSiWare channel, as well. And only one lonely Virtual Console title: Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom.

I think Blaster Master was announced some time last week. I know I was seeing stories for it over the weekend. That being said, the original isn't a game that aged all that well, but maybe that's just me.

Although... I remember how in the original, you had to start from the beginning and play all the way through to the end without being able to save the game. Nothing quite like playing for 5+ hours to get to the final boss only to die and have to start all over again...

I hope they changed that part, at least.

BM was one of my alltime fav games. There was a sequal on the genesis but I never played all the way throught it. It just wasn't the same tho I couldn't put my finger on why. I'm really looking forward to this!

This. One of the reasons for my love hate relationship with this game. Awesome to play, PITA when you died.
