Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Announced

Square Enix and their Eidos games label have announced Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. The game follows the titular criminals as they make their way through the Shanghai underworld, with the whole game presented in a "documentary style". It's slated for a 2010 release on the 360, PS3 and PC.

Oh yes!

The first game was definitely one of my biggest guilty pleasures a couple of years ago. One of the best split-screen co-op experiences I've had on the 360. Just a great game to play with a like-minded gamer.

Of course, I also tried the single player experience through GameTap and it just wasn't the same. Whether that was due to it essentially being the third playthrough for me or the fact that the game is just not as strong with an AI controlled partner, I'm leaning towards the latter.

If the sequel keeps same console co-op, I'm sure I'll be getting it. Though, I am a little worried about how they are hinting at adding "shakey-cam" with their "documentary style" comment.

I think it'll be less shaky cam and more grainy filter on the footage. I've never played the first, but I see it in Bargin Bins all the time, so it's rather tempting.

I only played the single player and I wasn't a fan, I didn't enjoy it at all.

Something appropriate about Dog being in the title of the next one.

I agree entirely. I quickly and painfully went through the coop and traded it in quicker than Brutal Legend. That's damn quick. But hey, at least I know what to expect from the sequel.

I liked how dark and dirty everything was. Both endings made you feel horrible. It felt like the same world as Hitman, which I kind of dig. Gameplay left much to be desired. Especially that fucking truck part with the pit and the... I don't know, but that was stupid.

This is taking precious resources away from my Hitman sequel.

I disapprove.

So true. Why are we being punished? I ask the gaming gods...why?
