Phoenix Wright Coming to WiiWare

This is fantastic news for fans of the phenomenal Ace Attorney games. It's also fantastic news for anyone who hasn't yet had the opportunity to play the phenomenal Ace Attorney games. Capcom is releasing ports of the first few GBA installments of the series on WiiWare in Japan. Hopefully this is something that makes its way to the US. And really, since they already have been in the US before, there isn't any reason why Capcom couldn't (or wouldn't) do it.

On December 15, you'll be able to buy the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on WiiWare in Japan for 900 Wii points. This will be followed up by Justice for All on January 26 (1200 Wii points), Trials and Tribulations on February 23 (1200 Wii points), and Chapter 5 of the first Phoenix Wright (which was new to Japan when the DS ports came out, but not to Americans) on March 16 for 300 Wii points.

I already have the games for DS, but if they let me register an objection by snapping the Wii-mote into a pointing gesture (and yelling, though that wouldn't matter), I just might buy it.

This is cool, but I want a new Pheonix Wright (or Apollo Justice) game! We got spoiled when they were translating all the Japanese games and releasing them fairly quickly, now we have to wait until they actually make a new one. Objection!

Yeah. I was glad to play it when it came out but it would have been nice not to have to wait as long between Apollo Justice and the Edgeworth game.

This is cool news but there's something about having the games with me on the go that added to their appeal. I liked being able to play a bit here and there instead of being shackled to the TV.

I just play one case at a time, between other portable games. Well, the first case in these games tends to be short, so I play the second too, but then play something entirely different in between, like a Dragon Quest or something. This stretches the games over a long period of time (I haven't finished Apollo yet), and keeps them fresh.

I only ever played the first one. Always intended to play the others...

Having them perpetually available will do wonders for that though.
