Pitchford Talks Borderlands DLC

I know, I know. Between Dragon Age, Modern Warfare 2 and the soon to be released Left 4 Dead 2 many of us have forgotten about Borderlands. But i have a feeling that many of us will be returning to Pandora when the 'Zombie Island of Dr. Ned' DLC drops later this month. Gearbox honcho Randy Pitchford spoke to Game Informer about this DLC pack in particular and future plans for the game in general. Of particular note:

- The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned contains about 6-10 hours of new content, with about 50 new quests spread over 5 new dungeons.
- You'll access the island by using the game's fast travel system, even if you have yet to activate it in-game.
- They're working on raising the level cap in the game, but it won't be in this DLC pack, and Gearbox is being coy on when exactly we'll see it.
- Don't expect to see any cosmetic changes to the characters, like custom logos, faces, etc. It would just eat up system power needed for other graphical touches.
- While most of the DLC being planned will add new areas to the game, they would like to use it to also expand upon existing areas, with Old Haven in particular being mentioned.
- There will be Were-Skags.

The 'Zombie Island of Dr. Ned' DLC will be released for the 360 and PS3 on November 24.

Awesome news. I'm glad they want to add missions in existing areas.

Awesome, I loved Old Haven.

Still wondering what the connection is between Doctor Zed and Doctor Ned.

God, I can't believe I'm saying this but ENOUGH WITH THE ZOMBIES IN EVERY GAME, BOOK, MOVIE, AND TAMPON COMMERCIAL! Please and thank you.

That said, I'm sure I'll hit up this DLC and enjoy it. But Great Zombie Jesus!

Definitely looking forward to this. It's not often I purchase DLC but I feel like it'll be worth it this time around.

This is a game where zombie content is...well it will work perfectly.

Otherwise I really don't want a world where zombies are ham-fisted directly into the ass of every FPS.

Not sure how zombie fit perfectly into Borderlands but I'm willing to be convinced.

I will say, as before, zombies in games are really getting boring. I was so disappointed when I read that Crackdown 2's main plot point is: kill the zombie. Sigh. If they didn't have OCD orb collection there wouldn't be much point to #2.

To me killing zombies in CD2 is no different than killing the mutants in CD1.
