If ducks ruled the world, that dog would be the arch villain.

I'll see your bet and raise you a Star Fox Adventures, which was while they were still in Nintendo's camp. Terrible game.

Rare, in my understanding, barely has any of the employees they had back in the N64 era, especially in the upper echelons. While Microsoft may have moved some really good people in there, my understanding is that it's honestly a different company.

... it's just that one duck is way better at what it does then the other duck.

Duck.
Zelda games focus on puzzle-solving, with some light combat sprinkled on top (light, as in, mash the A button). Kameo had almost nothing in the way of puzzles, and focused on meshing the attacks of your many forms to beat up large groups of enemies, and get a higher score.

They're similar in that they are games.

Well look at it this way, they are both set in fantasy worlds. Both have elemental shrines where you unlock abilities. Both have you increasing health by gaining hearts after a boss fight(and those boss fights were very Zelda like IMO). Both have big worlds to explore. The key difference is Link uses a sword shield and magical items he finds. While Kameo changes into elemental forms.

The gameplay of a Zelda game is more RPG/Action-adventure like. And Kameo is a beat-em-up/adventure game.

Anyways I felt that this was MS' answer to Zelda, or at least an attempt to have a Zelda like game in their library. I got a very Zelda like feel from the game. I guess you didn't.

Edit: also, the duck thing didn't do anything for you? I thought it was pretty funny. Especially Gorvi's awesome pic.

I thought MS' answer to Zelda was that Azure game, or whatever it was called. I didn't think it was so bad, but apparently it wasn't so warmly received.

In fact, there were a lot of original ideas from MS on the Xbox, most of which just turned out mediocre. It's a shame that they moved away from doing original IP like that.

Wait, how is Kameo "MS's answer to Zelda" when it was in development years before MS acquired the game?

Well then they acquired their answer to Zelda. Or they bought a game that had the same vibe as Zelda. Or perhaps I don't care. That'll be it!

Jeez, ya suggest a game is kinda like another one, and people get all bent out of shape.

Normally I'd agree wholeheartedly, but in this case I have to back him up. I really see the same amount of similarities between Zelda and Kameo as I do Zelda and Halo

  • Both main characters wear green
  • Both have swords
  • Both have annoying female sidekicks
They're the same game!
