This week, the Saturday road show heads to the steampunk old west to visit Damnation, the soon-to-be released shooter from Codemasters.

Damnation is described by it's developers as a "vertical shooter", and employs ton of acrobatic moves into the gameplay. The project began life as an award winning mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 before graduating to a full fledged game.

Damnation will be released this week for the 360, PS3 and PC.

This game is complete shit and I am begging my fellow Coggers not to waist their money on it... a rental may even be too much. It really feels like a poorly designed Unreal mod with shitty combat mechanics, terrible animation (some of the worst I have seen in years) and character design like something you would get from a group project made up entirely of high school kids who don't give a shit about any of it... except for the boobs on one of the 3 leading characters.

I only managed to play for about 30 min before wanting to pull the disc out of the machine and crush it with a hammer (which would have been much more fun) unfortunately the game wasn't mine and I had to use much self control to just walk away. This may be the worst console game this year.

Yeah, I checked out a Eurogamer review of this game because I was somewhat looking forward to it. They said the exact same thing. Stay far far away. I see it as a good thing. I get to save money and spend time doing something much more worth while.

I was looking forward to this but after reading that review and your warning Grifter, I think I'll pass.
