After hearing the 1UP guys talk about this on their podcast I'm a lot more interested. I'm not in pre-order territory, I'm still waiting to hear about length/replay, but it's sounding damn good.

I don't even care about replay as long as the initial run-through is as satisfying as Sly 2.

I also need to see if it's going to be released for $70 or $59... if it's the latter, I'll preorder it. If not, I'll just rent it and wait for the price to drop. I refuse to buy $70 games.

There's just something about inFamous that has me interested where Prototype doesn't. I don't know what it is aside from the pedigree or the fact that Prototype just seems to be all about the gore, but I guess I'll have a chance to play both games in a couple of months and make up my mind for myself!

The gameplay in InFamous looks more deliberate where in Prototype it looks more reactionary. Prototype looks almost button-mashy, at least from the recent trailers they've shown.

There you go. That pretty much hits the nail on the head. I can see Prototype being a bucket of fun for an hour or two but I haven't seen anything that makes me think I'd be playing it for the long haul. The me of a few years ago might have, but now that my gaming hours are much scarcer, I can't justify dropping the full cost of a game for something like that.

Why would it be priced $10 higher? When did games start doing that? Aside from Collector's Editions.

Because up here in the wonderful world of Canadia, the average price of 360/PS3 games has jumped over the past few months to being $65-$69 (and sometimes even higher). I could kind of grin and bear it when it was $59, but even then I didn't really like paying that much. At $70/game (which, after taxes works out to about $80 or so), it had better be something special.

Funnily enough, the local video store seems to be selling a lot of the new games for no more than $59. If their selection wasn't so awful, I'd actually be tempted to wash my hands completely of EB and go there full time.

Ohhh, I see. There's no online stores that ship internationally?

By the time you add in exchange, duty, shipping... it's usually not worth it. I'd probably end up paying more in the long run that way.

It's ok. I kind of like the fact that games cost more right now because it's forcing me to be a lot more stingy in my buying habits, something that people around here can attest that I have a hard time with
