New Overlord II Trailer

The Overlord is dead, long live the Overlord.

That could very well be the tagline for Overlord II. Rather than play as the same Overlord in the same realm, the sequel puts you in the shoes of a new Evil Despot. This time the realm you're set to dominate is more Romanesque (versus the more Shire-like environs of the first game) Glorious Empire. Expect the same dark humor of the original, but with more Laurel crowns and vomitoriums.

Overlord II is set for release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Games for Windows this summer.

Well, I didn't know the expansion pack also advanced the story. Shit, I gotta play that now.

I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

Hopefully Triumph will use some of the money they make on these games to make Age of Wonders 3.

I actually found the first game kind of fun, but weirdly bad. The storytelling was horrendous (I could never tell if some of the late-game plot revelations were twists or just things that they forgot to mention), the lack of map and directions made some parts terribly frustrating, and the core minion gameplay was iffy at best. The video was clearly early, but didn't seem terribly promising.
