I thought that, too. Then I read about how most of the new content will be following Gandalf when he's not with Bilbo, and I can see how it could work.

I can see how it would work for two 3 hour long films. It'll be interesting to see how they make it into 3 films. I'm hopeful it'll turn out well.

Of course, it's an inforgraphic built upon the entirely incorrect premise that only the pages from the actual Hobbit novel are going to be part of the movie.

Moreover, I expect the numbers include the appendices in its total for Return of the King. Less those, it was the shortest volume. Even shorter if you take out how much of the last few chapters that were cut from the film...

EDIT: Trailer was awesome first. I just couldn't get past the toast on his shoulder.
