I am mulling over whether I will do this again this year. I had a fun time a couple years ago, but it was very time demanding and my end result was really just a bunch of shleck. Cool to say I did it, but there would be gobs of work to pull the mess I wrote into anything worth reading.

That said, I do have a copy of Scrivener that a friend gifted me after winning last time that I really liked messing around in. The way it organizes things, it seems that it would do a better job of keeping my story manageable, since I jumped around a lot last time and it was easy to lose track of what I was doing, leaving the big mess. Looks like I still have the outlined notes that I had filled out during last year instead of actually "really" playing, so I may try mucking about with that a little before November and seeing if I am motivated to try.

I hadn't even thought about it but I been actually thinking of like old ideas. Like what can I push through and none of them speak to me anymore.

I'll be writing in November, but not as a participant of nano. Just the writing I do in general. But I encourage everyone involved to write your ass off. Maybe we can all chat about your works when you're done.

I decided to try it this year instead of sitting on the sidelines and reading about everyone here's progress. Just finished up for the night.

Started at midnight and got the daily goal out of the way. 1716 words in just over two hours.

Bah, looks like I'm already going to have to write off my first evening. Got a kindergarten registration night which is running from 7:30 to God knows when. Hope this doesn't become a trend... But ill try and get something sorted when I get home

I think I'm going to put off doing it this year in favor of a 30-day drawing challenge. I've been doing well with my art this year, actually making money off of it, and I'd like to improve on that.

Good luck everyone!

That sounds like a pretty reasonable excuse. Good luck to you!

Is it official, or just one you made up?

I think I'm going to try the 30-Day Monster Girl Challenge. (Warning: NSFW content at that blog) I had an idea to do a New York City theme for all of them.

For the first few days of November, the site is often incredibly slow/completely unavailable. Don't let that stop you! Start writing now, and visit the site later. The site only really matters towards the end when you want to verify your word count and prove to the world that you wrote 50k in 30 days.

Also, while the site struggles, you can stay abreast of its issues by checking out @nanowrimo on twitter.

1756 words, using my genetic human story, but not going to mess with her backstory. Right now, she's just a cop. I'll get to the part where she gets revenge later.

2,038 words. Granted, it's almost entirely dialogue, but it's a great start considering my last attempt a couple of years ago garnered exactly 0 words written in November. I've got a fairly solid character, and an idea for bad shit to happen to him, but it's not exactly a plot yet. I'll flesh it out as I go, but I'm pretty happy with what I was able to accomplish tonight.

Sitting on only 700 into my prologue. I need to up my game a little bit.

On the plus side, I've got a good 75/80% of the plot done and scetched out. So most of my work is the incidental stuff which I'm hoping I can do on the fly.
