Just finished watching Girls. This is so unexpectedly great and enjoyable...and in no way similar to Sex And The City, not that I ever watch a single episode of that show.

If this show was acted by COGers:
  • Hanna would be Xerxes
  • Marnie would be Krispy
  • Jessa would be Bone
  • Shoshanna would be me

Oh God. Now I need to watch this show to know if resikel is being flattering to my ego, terrible to my ego, or just real.

Does that mean I'm flattering your ego, being terrible to your ego, or just keeping it real?

The answer may be in episode 10, the season finale, at the 24:19 minute mark. Or not.

The answer is that I am flattering my own ego so I don't have to look at what terrible secrets are held at Girls S01 E10 24:19.000.

Taken 2

Yeah, wasn't really that interesting a film at all. I liked the first as it always felt well paced, and it seemed every aspect, from the action, the tension, the stakes all escalated continuiously till the end of the film.

Taken 2 just felt all over the place and uninteresting.

Although I have learnt how to navigate cities and find friends using grenades now.

Ditto. Watched a couple of episodes with my wife. We both found the main girl too annoying and stupid to watch. Just sad.

I'm watching Bag of Bones on Netflix.
I kept my expectations low, and it's actually pretty decent.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi

A wonderful documentary about one of the best sushi-maker's in Japan: an 85 year old man who's been perfecting his craft since he was nine years old. A truly inspiring story about determination and perfectionism.

I watched that a while back, it was quite good.
I couldn't help but feel bad for his son, though.

Just watched 6 Days To Air: The Making of South Park.

Fascinating, short documentary. Recommended if you have interest in the show or in how a show like it gets put together.

Why do you say that? Because people say he'll never surpass his father? They say that now, but we'll see what they're saying when he's 85.

I doubt people will remember his father then.

Jiro is a great movie. It's a culture piece in the truest sense. There's a thousands times you could roll your eyes and think, "That's ridiculous and unnecessary," but straddles that line while also making you think about the nature and causes of genius.

I know I'll probably not eat at Jiro's place, but I've made it a priority eat at a Joel Robouchon joint next time I'm in Vegas. If Jiro gives him props, I need to break bread there.

I watched the pilot of Mockingbird Lane.

I liked it. It wasn't perfect, but it was fun. I'd have liked to watch more.
