Odd team. I'd personally trade that knight for a cleric, but it could work.

I played and finished M&M:6 back when it came out. At the end of the game my characters were gods! I even printed out the award document when I finished. (I think I printed it with a dot-matrix printer.) A great game!

I've been playing mostly Borderlands 2 and XCOM. I also finished up Deponia. A very fun adventure game with great humor and a hilarious hero.

I know I haven't posted about the ex-evil housemate in sometime. Nothing really to report about now since we don't live with the fucker. But this news I thought was worth posting. Seems karma finally caught up with him. He was arrested and will be sitting in jail for awhile since no one is going to post bail. I would guess he got busted for possession plus the outstanding warrants. He was looking at jail time before this arrest. Looks like he'll be going away for awhile.

The LEGO store at MOA had some of the Alien Conquest sets on clearance a couple of months ago, so I snagged one of them. I haven't played with LEGO in years, but I loved them as a kid, and this summer I retrieved all of my blocks from my dad's place. At some point I'm going to get them all out and see how many of the old kits I can recreate.
We've seen them on sale at both Target and amazon, for basically the same price. Ignoring differences due to tax, I believe it is technically cheapest at Target.com, rather than in-store. The Vampyre Castle and The Ghost Train are the most on sale, but those are the two most expensive sets (other than the house, which is only on Lego.com).

And I think I've said it before, but I feel like I could spend crazy money on buying all these random sets, if only I could. Hell, I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but every time I go into the Lego store, I drool over this. I've concentrated on the Monster Fighters line because it's the most in my style, and I feel I need to concentrate in one direction (so I can satisfy my collector's urges while being kinda affordable).

We do have a couple smaller other random sets, but the Monster Fighter ones keep making me smile.

My intensely alcoholic attempt to watch the debate was interrupted by some family drama. Fortunately, the most damage done was probably to my liver.

My little brother was admitted to the ER today for threatening to kill himself for the nth time. He's been throwing this out for at least three years now. He moved in with our mom after high school to get away from his dad, whom we assumed was the main cause of his emotional issues, but she's proven to be just as insane. He's 20 now and just messed up. I offered to take him in, because his parents are both blackholes of warmth. We're not making enough money to really feed three people on our current budget, but I'd rather cut out beer and video games to give him a shelter that doesn't nag him to death.

As Aragorn would say, this is beyond my skill to heal. This fucker needs elvish medicine.

I felt similar ways after taking my sister in and let her live with us for six months a while back. She has...a very different outlook on life. My wife and I hoped that we could be a bit of a good influence on her, but she continually showed she would take the weirdest lessons away from any experience, and she and I were almost incapable of having a rational conversation.

I got to the point where I wanted her out, and when she left we were barely on speaking terms. She's doing better now, and I think encouraging her to move was good, but while I'm glad that she's doing better, I'm more glad that whatever she's doing doesn't involve me.

It was sad. It made me feel powerless to help someone get into a better place in their life.

I know you were teasing me. It's well-deserved.

As for the Lego sets, they are all so nice. For some reason I really want the special Holiday one they put out recently. If only I had $100 to spend on such things. Oh, and the architecture sets. So lovely.

Yeah. I think I have this urge to every now and then to stop and go, "You know this is all a joke, right? This hasn't gone too far yet, right?"

I think if I went into a Lego store today with an extra $100, I might walk out with this space shuttle. Not for me so much, but for my wife. She would love that one. She always had a bit of an airplane/space thing (her dad actually was a plane mechanic at Boeing once upon a time).

The Zombies
What I've heard is a Target-exclusive set (so the one at amazon is a lot more expensive than the one at Target. There is a knob you can twist that causes the two coffins to open, and you can attach the minifigs to them so they rise with the opening of the coffin. And the car has hammers on the wheels!

The Haunted House
This is a Lego.com exclusive (they have one you can find on amazon, but for quite a bit more money). It's also the biggest, coolest set in the line. It opens up into what is basically a dollhouse of Lego monster awesomeness.

The Vampyre Castle
This, and the next one, is what really made us jump. It's basically $20 off the normal price of $100.

The Ghost Train
What can I say? It's a freaking ghost train with an airplane. You know there's going to be some FFVI reenacting going on.

The Crazy Scientist and His Monster
Why yes, of course I want to help out with evil experiments. Who wouldn't?

Then we've got the smaller sets. The Vampyre Hearse, The Werewolf (with evil tree!), The Mummy (with skeleton horse!), and The Swamp Creature (with monster-fighting airboat!).
I love that my birthday falls right around Halloween.

Knowing someone with a mental health issue is never easy. This only becomes more difficult if it is a family member and they move in with you. My suggestion to anyone in this situation is both parties need support. Usually you hear advice stating the person needs to "get meds and/or counseling" hence support. Of course half the time that person refuses. There is support though for the family, support that includes how to deal/interact with the person so they have a better chance at getting help. The organization is called NAMI:National Alliance on Mental Illness. You can search for a local chapter where you live. They have all kinds of support for families etc who are interacting with someone who needs MH support.
Self-harm should never be taken lightly. I'm sure you and your wife realize the huge support role you are involved in now. You shouldn't do this alone or try to understand all this by yourself.

My boyfriend has a Masters in Aerospace Engineering, and he's a big NASA/space geek. His birthday is coming up, and I wish I had the spare cash so I could buy that for him. He would absolutely love it!

No way! I think Klansmen have way pointier hats.

I don't know about anyone else, but any more when I think of the KKK, I think of those little sketches from Reno 911! with the Klan that ultimately culminated in the Klan member proposing to a black woman. Freaking hilarious.

One nice thing about Lego is that while they have crazy expensive sets that make you drool, they generally also have more reasonably priced alternatives too. If you search for "space shuttle" on their site, in addition to the big one I linked to earlier, there's also a $30 shuttle, a $70 space center, and even a $5 moon buggy. All of which look pretty cool.

More Assassin's Creed: Revelations last night, I'm going to be really sad to see that game end, I'm having a damn good time with it. I'm mid-way through Sequence 6 (of 9) with the vast majority of the side missions done. I got some legendary assassin's armor last night, which looks pretty slick. I haven't bought any of the Assassin's Creed DLC, I may have to go back and look at some of it once I'm done with Revelations.

It's a sad experience. I find myself frustrated, and then frustrated that I got frustrated about someone else's condition.
