And this is what we do when we own literally everything you can own...we build a train of rams right up to their EB spawnpoint and make it a game of how many we can defend, just to kind of twist the knife a little.

I cannot imagine how bad those other two servers must be.

I don't think the problem is the other servers are bad, I think the problem is that server transfers resulted in whole guilds leaving those servers to join Sanctum because Sanctum was winning.
They really need to figure the guesting thing out so that wvw isn't completely ruined through server transfers. |

I believe we started winning after we got a couple big WvW focused guilds. We were getting stomped left and right opening month.

I think you might be talking about a more recent influx of players than I am. I think there was an initial wave that got us some good guilds and then after two rounds of wins, we started to get the band-wagon jumpers.

I've been thinking of making gold in-game via the trading post; I've been buying things during the week and selling them on the weekend when demand is higher, and it's been getting me mild profits, but it'd be easier if I knew what to buy/sell to maximize the return.
Anyone have suggestions on that?

I would think crafting materials (especially the rare drops). Most important is likely diversification, so you don't end up getting killed by one aggressive undercutter or compete with yourself by oversupplying.

You have to remember that this is a "global" TP...you'll have to work harder to make money on it compared to games with server-based AHs. You can still make money at it, but from everything I've read, you'll have to put in more time for a smaller profit percentage than in, say, WoW.
I tried concentrating on it for a little over a week and while I made money, it wasn't enough given the time I'd put in. And don't get me wrong, as a player I think this is great. Seemingly the only market controlled by a few people with lots of gold is the precursor market, which doesn't bother me that much. Inflation on those things is out of control anyway, pretty soon it's just going to be the flippers selling to each other. Anet also stated that if precursor prices get too out of control, they will intervene somehow. Last edited by digitalErich; 10-20-2012 at 08:48 PM. |

I really enjoy how they've decided to run the market. Makes it far more difficult for that absolutely ridiculous shit I've seen on WoW servers.

No. He's referring to my calling him out in map chat after I noticed that he was in the same area as me.

Every time I ran across one of those Halloween doors tonight, nothing was happening. Someone said they spit out mobs...do they "dry up" after a while?

Seems like a lot of the events are bugged. Doors not closing, the ghost to start the scavenger hunt not spawning, etc.
