Children can sit down and watch any random episode of Justice League and by the end of the episode know pretty much everything they would ever need to know about any given character. I'm not sure why studios assume that adults are incapable of that.

Why is it only superhero movies that have to go through this shit? These characters really aren't that complicated. Could you imagine if The Hangover was preceded by a series of movies giving an origin story to each character?

No, I meant people complained 'each' avengers film didn't give enough character development. I disagree, but I can't imagine those people are going to like character development for justice league.

Big difference is that Marvel puts comic people in postions to know shit/do stuff, while WB treats DC like an ugly/stupid stepchild that doesn't know shit. IE: Treated like people wo sold the movie rights to the film studio and not part of the same entity.

Is that still the case? Marc Guggenheim has written comics for a bunch of years and was one of the screenwriters on Green Lantern. Johns has been consulting on the Flash and Shazam movies and may be writing one or both. I'm sure he'll have something to do with the JL movie.

That said... WB treats the DC characters like crap because they didn't pay a dime for their rights. All of the Marvel characters we've seen in movies so far had their rights bought by a separate company*. When you shell out big bucks for a property, you know you have to make something from it or the rights will lapse. WB feels no such pressure with the DC properties, so we get very little from them.

*Disney eventually bought Marvel and reacquired those rights, but the rights were still sold.

Then what was their excuse for Iron Man 2.

what are the odds Man of Steel has a post-credits scene that teases the Justice League movie?
