Just finished The Avengers again.
Amazing movie. I tried watched the Evolution pilot, and I couldn't even make it all the way through. So much wasted promise.

Damn, Xerxes, you watched that clipped 3,000 times?
Homeland is a cool show. It tries to stay grounded while taking some risks, and while I hate some of the minor plot lines, the major arcs are pretty damned good. At least they don't keep moving the goal posts like some shows. Also, the performances solid across the board. And Season 2 seems to be moving at a much faster clip than the first. |

Grounded is the exact opposite of the tone of that show. Ever dince Fight Club and The Sixth Sense, you must have surprising twist in your thriller, regardless of how goddamn ridiculous it is.

Well TV is a very different medium from film, but if you want to get a grasp for serialized work, I recommend Charles Dickens.

If Chalres Dickens wrote like Homeland, we would find out that Oliver Twist was the son of the Earl of Hughchester and Fagin was his mother.

That actually sounds a lot like Great Expectations.

Struck out twice tonight. Managed to get through all of The Goon and about 40 minutes of the Tim and Eric movie. Not funny.

Finally saw The Avengers. Just as expected, it was excellent. A few truly laugh-out-loud moments, great action, great interplay between all the superheroes. I'm impressed at how Whedon managed such a large ensemble and still seemed to give everyone their due. Good juggling act, there.

I watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I could copy and paste my Facebook review but suffice to say that it actually made me think Emma Watson was not attractive. That's how much I didn't like it.

That is one weird movie. Made me smile, though. |

I just finished The Cabin in the Woods.
I certainly got more than I bargained for. Good concept that was executed well

I saw Wanderlust over the weekend. Despite the fair to bad reviews, I actually found it quite funny. I started off by hating the main characters and it never gave me any excuse to change that opinion so everyone acting like a total fuck-knuckle didn't phase me in the slightest.
Also I saw Tremors, which is still great. |

Still watching Burn Notice. Just started Season 3.
I gotta say, I hope they leave "the Management" thing out from this point. It's lame that it seems to be a plot that's disappearing just like that, but at the same time, it was obvious they didn't really have an actual plan behind them, so maybe it's for the best.

Just finished Prometheus. It's really hard to appreciate an exceptionally gorgeous movie whenever you're facepalming the entire time. I did like it though.
