Game Purchases This Year

So I was thinking this morning, "Wow, I've done pretty good this year, I haven't bought many games.". Then I thought about it a little harder and started putting together a list. And it kept going. And going. And going. Holy fuck, I've bought 75 games this year. 75. Seventy-fucking-five.

Alan Wake
Alan Wake's American Nightmare
And Yet It Moves
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Avadon: The Black Fortress
Beyond Good & Evil HD
Bit.Trip Runner
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
Cave Story+
Cogs
Crayon Physics Deluxe
Dear Esther
Defense Grid
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
Deus Ex 2
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
DLC Quest
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout Tactics
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition
Far Cry
Far Cry 2
Fortune Summoners
Geneforge 1
Geneforge 2
Geneforge 3
Geneforge 4: Rebellion
Geneforge 5: Overthrow
Gratuitous Space Battles
Hammerfight
Hard Reset
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Hustle Kings
Jamestown
Jolly Rover
Lair of the Evildoer
Legend of Dragoon
Legend of Grimrock
Mass Effect 3
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (Vita)
Midnight Club 2
Modnation Racers Road Trip
Mortal Kombat (Vita)
Mutant Storm Reloaded
NightSky HD
Orcs Must Die!
Oniken
Painkiller: Black Edition
Painkiller: Redemption
Painkiller: Resurrection
Painkiller Overdose
PixelJunk Sidescroller
Prince of Persia HD Trilogy
Psychonauts
Puzzle Agent
Q.U.B.E.
Rayman Origins
Revenge of Shinobi
Retro City Rampage
Shank
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable
Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing
Splinter Cell HD Collection
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Super Meat Boy
Swift Stitch
The Longest Journey
Titan Quest Gold
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Unepic
Vertex Dispenser
WipEout 2048

Now, to my credit, only Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition, and Retro City Rampage were bought at full price near release. Defense Grid on Steam was a gift from frederec a while back when he had some extra keys, but that's it. Most of those games were heavily, heavily discounted and/or purchased as part of bundles, but shit. 75 games. Oh, and a Vita with a 32GB card. That's crazy.

So, how many games have all of you bought this year?

EDIT: Adding it all up it looks like I've spent $470 all year on games. All things considered that's not terrible, but still.

Full priced or including steam sales? If including steam sales well over 100.

Oh, definitely. A lot of the games I bought were in Steam sales, PSN sales, in store sales, and indie bundles. Like I said, I bought 3 full price games all year, 4 if you want to count Legend of Dragoon on PSN for $6.

I've bought 4:

Alan Wake
Civ V
Guild Wars 2
Anachronox

I think the only other one on my plate for the year is XCOM, but it depends on how soon it goes "cheap" otherwise that'll carry over into next year.

I bought quite a few games, but most of them were on sale. The only full price games I bought were Mass Effect 3 and Mists of Pandaria.

Steam sales don't count.

Outside of Steam I bought:

Mass Effect 3
Journey
The Walking Dead
Orcs Must Die! 2
Borderlands 2
XCOM: Enemy Unknown

That's off the top of my head. There's probably a couple I'm missing, but those are the big ones.

See, that's cheating!

If I remove Steam sales, PSN sales, and indie bundles my list goes from 75 to 15, and again, with only 3 of those being full price.

I spent over 300 bucks at the Steam Sale or near enough. My first steam sale and I had credit to burn. So...I don't want to add up my games.

PC gaming is just so awesome. And cheap!

Back in the day, $470 bought me around 4 Megadrive games. Somehow Gorvi's purchases seem like better value.

70 games on Steam, 14 on GoG, 4 on Origin, 3 on Desura and one physical copy. I'm probably missing a few games bought from independent sites, but that's the bulk of them.

I'd probably be a lot richer if I wasn't a gamer!

See, I don't feel bad about that number at all, though. That's a lot of games, sure, and I know that I won't finish or even play all of them, but it's my hobby that I love. Thinking about it, $470 for 10 1/2 months of a hobby is nothing. It comes out to about $1.64 per day. Shit, that's not even a cup of Starbucks daily. I don't smoke anymore, I rarely drink, I rarely go out to eat, so games are my "vice".

And yeah, Duke, I hunt for deals like crazy, I love looking for cheap games. It's funny, of the $470 I spent, $340 was between 14 games (an average of $24.28 each) while the other $130 was between the remaining 61 games (an average of $2.13 each). The Vita, 32GB card, Vita case, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss were all obtained by redeeming credit card points, so those didn't cost me a cent. I guess you can throw another $50 on there for the PlayStation Plus subscription, but I haven't even begun to list the games I've gotten from that, which would be nuts, let alone the discounts.

All in all I'm very happy with those numbers. I doubt I'll spend more than another $50 on gaming for the rest of the year, if that. I know I'm getting Persona 4 when it hits the Vita, but that'll be another that I'll get free with credit card points.
