WeekEND gaming(10/12/12)- What are YOU playing?

The weekEND begins with insomnia. Unlike our resident insomniac expert Mr. Karak who treats 72 hrs of no sleep with a shrug, i'll be needing some caffeine to keep functioning when I rather be sleeping. Beyond the insomnia tales...looking back to the happenings for the WeekDAY roundup:

The Reverend decided to celebrate Columbus Day by taking out a Native Indian for Indian food.
MagGnome flirted with his own reflection. Again.
XCOM had not taken over gamer's lives yet.
MagGnome discusses life goals and wanting wikipedia being all about him.
AyeEmBored went nyah nyah eating his wife's bacon bread and not sharing.
The MMP talked about helping a family as they volunteered for the secret project in the basement.
Spigot debuts his ficitonal series Vegan Man. No TTS before 2014.
Kato goes FB official. It's said he and MagGnome's mirror friend are very happy.
Suave P. tries to get a date with Kato but comes up shelled.
We find out Karak is a closet Bee Gees fan.
The MMP discusses Black Magic Math. HW is due on Tuesday.
Xydarc begins to enlist END/DAY regulars for the fight against aliens.
Dorkandproudofit decides to enter the END/DAY madness. May you survive the experience Dork.
Xydarc and Dork attempted to raise the specter known as "The Doc"
Which they do since The MMP points out there is a PhD after the MMP part.
XCOM arrives. The wars begin. Gamers die. We grieve their digital deaths.
MagGnome's twin Mags shows up. No Mr. Gnome, that is not me.
MagGnome begins correspondence course on psychology with The Doc.
Spigot's brain broke a few times and then had an aneurysm.
Someone attempted to assassinate The MMP in class. The student has a red W next to his name now.
Dork admits his mother is Dr. DiSomone Masters IV. This explains so much of his posting history.
MagGnome wants to share a Dwarf Fortress with Panthera
Purple Santa's race is revealed: He is the remake of Shaft.
Gorvi reveals he has green hair and wears green suits.
MagGnome reveals he sucks at chemistry. Irony?
Soup, chiles and green sauce. Recipes for how to eat aliens.
Spigot has moved, can't find anything leading to a sleepless night.
A moment of silence for Spigot who has DSL.

The gaming WeekEND for me:

The Walking Dead Ep. 4- if I read what Spigot posted is real and not from my sleep deprived hallucination, i'll jump on this.

Dishonored - I'm really liking this game. No dead bodies or bust.

L4D1 - Another attempt to get ADD and her pink controller to play with me.

Onto the others now...

What are YOU playing?

I returned from my bar outing tonight to wax poetic about my cooking preferences in a recent thread. There were no survivors.

Gaming wise, you may have figured out that I jump randomly between games. I haven't touched Majora's Mask in a few days, and my DS lies cold and forgotten in my backpack from my weeks ago trip to my hometown for my reunion. Retro City Rampage is wanting me to come back after a rage-quit from the other night. FFXIII still sits in anticipation for my attention in the PS3. I jump around. I do not focus. So I am not likely to predict what I will play, as Skyrim calls to me from the other room. But it, too, shall be passed, as the Server/Gaming PC is still in the throes of data transfer as the copying process to the new drive is in the painful "try this file over and over again because it won't read the first time" section of transfer. Lo, that I may visit the land of Nords and bears. It is not meant to be.

So right now, I'm relaxing. My trusty feline tampers with the remote to the living room media pc, and it irks me so. I might seek retribution to his buffoonery with the industrial-strength spray-bottle that can hit him from 15-feet away.

'Tis a lark. Oh yea, how the world turns while I suffer.

End scene.

Edit: Also,

I was up until midnight writing a paper (darn you, procrastination!). Less than six hours later I'm up getting ready to go to class.

It's going to be a long day. -_-

Midterms are over and my fall break begins at noon today so I will have free time until Wednesday.

I intend to spend this time with the following activities: Pokémon White 2, Halo Anniversary, Borderlands 2, Retro City Rampage, karaoke, beer consumption, pumpkin carving, general partying, and finally I will attempt to undo all the partying with a series of lengthy bike rides.

At 4:00PM today we fly to Florida for every parents right of passage...take your kid (5 years old) to Disney world. We are only going to do one day at each park, Magic Kingdom, Sea World, Legoland, Hollywood Studios who knows what else.

Taking my Vita, iPhone and iPad so I'll have plenty of gaming to keep me company during the down time.

I've done, both before. I don't think my 5 year old would meet the height requirement.

OK, so I'm back into playing Assassins Creed Revelations full on now. I played for about 3 1/2 hours somehow last night and didn't progress the story a single bit. I spent all that time getting the viewpoints (only two left) and freeing the strongholds (only 1 left) and buying up the shops (still a bunch left). I don't know what it is about AC, but just traversing the city, killing templars, leveling assassins, and buying up places, it's just fun and relaxing. Tonight I'll probably hit that last stronghold (has one of the viewpoints I need) then actually progress the story, since the last viewpoint is in an area I can't get to yet. Maybe by this time next year I'll actually have AC3 and AC3 Liberation, I won't be rushing out to get them.

On the Vita front it's going to be hopping between Retro City Rampage and Disgaea 3. RCR is just fun, pure and simple. There's so much nostalgia there it's almost too much, but not quite. As for Disgaea, I've decided to just go through the story as quick as possible, then do the crazy leveling and side missions once that's done. Looking at some info online there's so much post game content in D3 you could almost say the game doesn't even start until the main story is done.

You know, the entirety of Donald Glover's Weirdo is on youtube, and it is entirely worth it. I went into it as a Community fan, and came out loving Donald Glover just on his own.

My brother and I want to push through a bit more of Borderlands 2 since the first major DLC is dropping next week. Hopefully we can at least finish our first playthrough this weekend.

There will be other things. Diablo III? FTL? Torchlight 2? P2: Innocent Sin? Something else? Who knows? Oh, and maybe some test writing.

Speaking of class, I need to get my ass in gear and try to grade this homework in the hour or so before class starts. I hate that I keep procrastinating on this shit.

Dishonored! I played a tiny bit last night but had to stop to do some work and then play action figures with my son while we watched Fire and Ice. He loves that movie. I put it on the PS3 a long tine ago since its just a divx file. It is violent but it doesn't show much and is pretty tame overall. Great for a kid who loves playing Skyrim right now.

What I plan to play
Guild Wars 2 (PC)
FTL (PC)
Torchlight 2 (PC)

I am starting to see a trend....

What I will actually play
Whatever Hailyn lets me play (Toddler)

Hai and I started watching the new Beauty and the Beast series last night. In the opening scene it shows a fight between the beast and someone else. Hai looks up and shouts, "oh man." I figured maybe we should watch something else at that point. She is already coming home with bumps and bruises. I don't want her to start a toddler wrestling league at day care.

Get her watching wrestling. My daughter loves it!

And I like my DSL, thank you very much. It's pretty zippy on the downloads... Sob.

I'm not technically moving until later today when we get the keys. Yay...

If I get a chance to play anything this weekend, it'll likely be some Vita or DS games, though I'm not disassembling my PC until tomorrow, so there is still a chance I can beat TL2 before I move.

Oh man, this is killing me. My son is making a magazine to sell to his friends (I swear, he wants to sell everything to his friends.). Here is a sample of the blurbs on the cover (with his spelling intact):

ASOME MAGEZEN

INSIDE -

MEGA WARS - The carcters (I think Mega Wars is a comic he's making with his friends)
BOY COLER'S! (Not sure what this is...)
MINECRAFT! HOW DO CREEPERS BLOW UP?
And it goes on from there.

How many pokemon will hatch from that?

Pokemon Black 2 - I have three gym badges now and have arrived at the fourth gym. Right now I'm mainly trying to collect every pokemon I find, and I've also started working on some side events. I began building some stores, and I think I might try to find some other things to mess around with since I never really did that in the past. I'm also trying to keep a more balanced party this time around instead of one insane pokemon just crushing everything in my way.

Borderlands 2 - I still have two chapters left. I'll probably finish it this weekend.

Dishonored - I'll probably get to this after I finish BL2. I'm at the beginning of the first mission that I was sent on. I'm going for a mostly stealth playthrough although I killed a few people near the beginning of the game. I'm going to try to not worry about it though since I'm not sure what is affected exactly. If I really like the game, maybe I'll play it again and try to do better.

Code of Princess - This showed up from Gamefly today. I don't really know anything about it, but I'll try it out if I can manage to remove Pokemon Black 2 from my 3DS.

Best bit of advice for doing Orlando with a younger kid...

Hit whatever park you're going to at opening, come back to the hotel at noon so the kid can get a nap, go back out later. You get as much done in that first hour as you do the rest of the day.

Since it sounds like you're off of Disney property, find out which days have the morning extra magic hour for the Disney parks you're going to and avoid those parks that morning. If I'm wrong and you're on Disney property, consider the morning Magic hour. Watch out, there will be lots of days when Magic Kingdom will close early for the Halloween party, which you have to have an extra ticket for, so the previous "leave at noon" advice may not hold. Universal has their adult Halloween thing, too.

And lastly, ACT LIKE A KID! Get the character's autographs. Try to get in at the 50's Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios for lunch and act up so "Mom" makes you stand in the corner. Have a soda drinking contest at Club Cool in Epcot. Make sure that you let the kid "trick" you into trying Beverly. (ugh ugh UGH!)

Signed Aye Em a Disney Freak.

I almost forgot, I'll also probably be playing The Binding of Isaac. That's become my go to game when I only have a few minutes to play something and, of course, it's great. My son actually likes watching that one for some reason.

It's put me in the mood for another Rogue-like, but honestly I can't find anything out there that strikes my interest. I know the other "popular" game right now in that style is Dungeons of Dreadmore, but I can't stand the art style in that game, so i doubt I'd get very far. Any suggestions? And no, not FTL, I'm more interested in the whole navigating a character through a dungeon aspect.

Yes. My wife watched the first two seasons for the first time maybe a month or so ago. We've since re-watched it like three times or more.

I never thought a show could make cancer so fucking funny, yet somehow still seem to be kinda respectful.
