Who else is getting in on this? I just bought myself the Legendary pack (Why not? I <3 Zombies) and am hoping this actually turns out to be a fun game instead of a pile of crap.

See, I don't see it as paying my way into Beta. I signed up for Beta and was gonna wait it out, but I'm pre-ordering the game, some extras AND simply getting a free slot in beta for myself, and a weekend pass for three of my friends

I'm confustigated. Day Z is a no go at 15$, but the game that was obviously changed mid development from a regular MMO shooter to a Zombie MMO shooter, without any real proof of it being a real game, is a day 1 minus many other days purchase at 50$? The mind boggles.

Man that sniper rifle in the second video sounds awesome. Nice gun sound effects will win you a lot of points with me.

This game looks interesting, but I never really got into DayZ. That was mostly because of how hilariously unpolished it was though. This looks much better. Might have to do some reading.

Squid: He was talking about me, actually lol...I passed on Day Z when it was on sale (It never went lower than 24 for me however) but grabbed this almost as soon as they went on sale.

Scary: Day Z was a no go for me because it looked clunky, honestly. This seems to be more in tune with the kind of game I was hoping from it. It may very well be the exact same gameplay-wise, but everything coming out about this one gives me a LOT of hope. And honestly, it looks like it will play better. I know Day Z is getting an overhaul as a stand alone game soon, and will keep watch on that, but I'd rather choose this one as my Zombie MMO of choice.

And Day Z was never 15 bucks...it was down to 24 for me from 30. Not much of a dip, but ya know. Why was this at 50 more enticing? See above.

I was looking forward to this, but the game looks clunky as fuck. So I hope they get everything ironed out. Engine reminds me of Crysis since it's the exact same way to modify your weapon.

I dunno, watching the PvP video I didn't get a clunky feel from it. A bit rough, but honestly...I learned two things:

Never stand out in the open if you can avoid it.
Never have bright lights going at night if you can avoid it.
Other people are dicks.

Yeah, I do not regret buying this.

EDIT: I have also learned I cannot count.

It's early beta access. I THINK it's gonna be in closed beta starting the 31st, with the 15th an early closed beta.

I could be wrong. I've been focusing more on gameplay and such than the actual development table on it.

So, in what ways is this like or different than DayZ? Are there vehicles? Is there player-to-player communication? Is there any sort of system to prevent the all out murderfest that Day Z became?

Very similar from what I see, but with more obvious goals and "quests", also safe zones, townships and strongholds.
Yes to vehicles.
Yes to comms.
Reputation affects relationships with NPCs, other players can see your rep and player bounties can be created.
