You guys are awesome. Glad to see you aren't upset about Volus being added to the fray. Sure they might be the Mass Effect equivalent of space jews and pacifists who only care about there latest credit chit but gol darnit they are biotic gods!

People who get upset about free things added to games that have been out for months confuse me. More choices is almost always good, and hell, if you don't like the Volus, don't use them. On the other hand, I really hope Vol Vanguards have a pinball or bowling sound when they do the charge.

I personally am excited. Any new variant on a character from the ME3 universe that you don't think could hold a candle to say a Krogan, is going to be hilarious. Volus Vanguards sounds like a Volleyball team, btw. This one, would've also thought it would've been neato to see a Hanar kit. A la Blasto ![]() Or. Enthusiastically, I would've also been blown away if they some how implemented Elcor.

That said. Curious what the Vorcha Engineer will get. Or the Drell Assassin. Snipey, Stabby? And hell, a Geth Soldier is awesome. I hope he's like a mini geth prime. |

Volus should be fun. I wonder what kind of dodge they will have.

I'd wager either no dodge, or some jetpacks like it shows for the turian in the video.

From what folk are saying: 4 races in this patch. (Two turians, two Volus) but the other race are on the character screen. They'll be unlocked each week with weekly challenges instead of the weekly events.

So I played a bunch of the new MP and I gotta say that it's pretty good overall. I like the changes to Firebase White and the new hazards especially the sandstorm one. Collectors are pretty cheap, Geth are now insanely hard with the Pyros able to stomp kill you and the annoying new bomber units.
Oh and I unlocked 2 characters. The Volus Engineer is now one of my fave characters and the Havoc Turian really sucks. His Havoc Strike is very weak that it can't even kill an Assault trooper on Silver and it's basically a crappy variant of Biotic charge that leaves you vulnerable and does not restore your shields. Cryo Blast still sucks and the stimulus pack is useless. Very disappointed. But at least I got my little Volus guy. Gonna play him some more tomorrow. He's like the white mage of Mass Effect 3. The new Manifest is dope too. http://social.bioware.com/n7hq/index...&platform=xbox

I've also put in a few hours of the new dlc. It's nice to have a new enemy, and man are they tough. So far the best strategy against them I've seen is a constant fighting withdrawal across the map. We get in serious trouble anytime we hunker down. Don't expect a lot of success against them on gold and higher till everyone starts figuring out the best ways to deal with them.
Haven't seen the volus adept in play, but I did play with an engineer. Seemed to be the ultimate support classs, helping out with shields and setting up death traps with the recon mines. I've also seen the Turian jetpack guy in action and I'll only add one thing. They can dodge and backpedal faster than any other classs it seems. Even if their powers are substandard it seems that there might be something there for anyone willing to play a fast moving heavy weapons guy. Also, is it just me or are the reapers the easiest army to fight now? The geth seem absolutely monstrous. Haven't tried Cerberus yet so I haven't seen how the dragoons change that dynamic. |

There's a new Cerberus unit? Any idea what its abilities are?

Dragoons are the mid-tier armored units that Cerberus seemed to be missing. They are basically inferior versions of the ex-cerberus Phoenix Adept/Vanguard. They have whips and are fast as hell. If they start charging their whips get the hell out of the way cause they hurt. The only good thing about Dragoons is they cause less Phantoms to spawn though. ![]() Quote:
About the Turian Havoc. Ya his mobility is amazing. That's basically all he's got though. Havoc I think is supposed to be used as a support power for finishing off cryo explosions from Cryo Blast. It's not meant to be used like a Tech Vanguard. There's an urge to do it but there's not a lot going on with that class at the moment. About the Volgineer. They aren't going to consistently get you on the top of the scoresheet but they aren't designed to be killing machines. I saw a Biotic God in play and they apparently can debuff bosses by a whopping 45% with their Orbs. Craziness.

Downside is: Volus can't take cover. That makes you feel REALLY strange in this game. I've rolled into walls more times than I want to count already. The Volgineer is a nifty damn support class. That mine can be handy, I just wish I could set it to auto detonate. Wouldn't mind a way to see when people need shields as well.

I was wondering about the cover thing. It wasn't happening in the video I saw but I wasn't sure if it was impossible or just something the player wasn't doing.
