Speaking of which, do you remember that old movie we caught on cable a couple of weeks ago? Old horror/comedy by the name of TerrorVision. Starred a young Chad Allen who these days is probably best remembered as Matthew Cooper from Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman. The movie was pretty silly, but the creature effects were great and extremely gross. You don't really see a lot of monster movies made these days. I have to wonder if that has more to do with declining profits or if it is a reflection on our society. What's that? Yea, you are right, I'm probably looking into it way too much.

RE6 definitely has some problems, but I'm still having fun with it.

The biggest issue is that the game does a really poor job of teaching you how to play it. It's fun when you understand what's going on, though.

I read this last night and thought, "What are you going on about?" Now I realized you're pulling a Francis York Morgan Too bad there hasn't been any recent news about the Director's Cut of that game.

I'm a big fan of the RE series, but it might be a while before I play this one. They'll probably do DLC add-ons then release a gold edition some day.

The only thing I found I needed to learn was that diving and rolling are key to survival (at least on the difficulty I am playing on). I am loving the game, the only complaint I really have is that in the Leon campaign the story is pretty poor thus far, the bitch with me just keeps saying "wait until we get to the temple and you'll see" as the answer to every question that is asked. Then I got there and nothing was revealed that hasn't been standard in like every Resident Evil ever made. RE has never really been about story anyhow so this is a very minor annoyance and was something I pretty much expected.

If anyone wants to play some co-op I'm down, tag is in the sig.

Despite all the negativity surrounding this game, I still find myself wanting to pick it up. I just feel like the things that reviewers are complaining about won't be enough to keep me from enjoying the game. I thought RE5 was great, but I never played it by myself.

Nope. Low low low low low low and little thought was put into this game. The best thing I can see this game does is allow you to select what kind of game you want to play for someone to come and join you. Are you treasure hunting? playing for the story? or trying to collect all the medals? Because you can join your game based on how the host is playing. Everything else sucks. It's like, not even funny really. I'm six hours into the game and I've gone nowhere and don't even know what's going on other than there's a Neo Umbrella.

How are the trains still running?! Leon: "there's no one at the controls. Zombie express". I shit you not that's a quote.

I laughed the first time I saw Neo Umbrella mentioned. It struck me as one of the more obvious examples of "We're reaching here because someone told us we had to make this game."

2/5 from GiantBomb, and to what I was saying before, "Resident Evil 6 may be the most lavishly produced bad game in history. "

Haha, I figured it sounded pretty crazy but also knew someone HAD to get it. I thought it was kinda a spot on impression 8-P.

It really makes me sad to see what Resident Evil has become. Survival Horror is all but dead these days, and I blame this sort of pandering to an audience who wants a more action oriented experience.

Survival horror is alive and well on the PC. Amnesia, Home, Lone Survivor, etc.

God, you guys are kinda making me want to buy the game. I could just imagine co-op through it laughing at all the terrible dialogue...

My favorite parts so far:
* the whole "mash X to fly helicopter!" part of the intro
* when you heal your partner, it just looks like you're tapping them on the forehead with your pill case

"Be healed!"

The game is a lot of fun coop. My friend and I also put together a list of pros and cons that I will post when I am not on a phone.

Expecting something witty here?

Arise thread!

So I got this for xmas and only just got round to playing it.

I got to say, I'm kinda enjoying it on co-op.

I like what they were trying to achieve, the overlapping stories, the co-op meets with other co-op players to take down a boss etc are all nice idea's.

The execution leaves something to be desired though, great ideas, but they just don't seem to be pulled off well enough to feel 'right'.

Although some of the campaigns try to revive survival horror, RE feels more like a 'shooter horror' now. There have been some tense 'oh shit' moments, but most the time when I'm low on ammo I feel more irked than horrified, and then I just go melee things to death and I'm fine.

Ultimately I'm having fun, but once I'm done with the campaign it'll likely go to the trade ins. I did enjoy some agent hunt, but turned that option off when Im playing, since I like hunting over players, but it just gets in my way when I'm playing the campaign.

So, liking the game, but I think this will be my last RE game. Story wise it does feel like they are beating the last breaths out the dead horse and all the bells and whistles feel more like they're trying to keep the franchise alive than going "hey, this would be awesome!"

I get better horror out of other horror games, and better action out of action games.

I thought it was dreadful. A friend and I played splitscreen and we beat a level just by running straight through it. Literally. There was a section with a helicopter that we had to shoot but that was about it.

You just described about 90% of games that have guns that have been released since 2005. I think I'm being incredibly generous with that 10%.

Well I did say I was enjoying it, not that it's a great game. I give them points for the things they were trying. I liked the idea of crossing paths with other co-op games etc and helping each other out, but most of the idea's were flawed in one way or another.

Yeah, I agree with you there the game suffers from too many chefs in the kitchen. I think that's why Resident Evil: Revelations was so great. I really hope they do a sequel to that one.

I never played Revelations. I honestly lost track of RE chronology and story after 3 and only picked up from 4/5/6 so I've never played all the other ones, although I hear some are good.
