No Country for Old Men

I was engrossed throughout but really wasn't wild about the conclusion.

In a lot of ways that was on purpose. They made the ending anticlimatic, literally. They have the climax happen off screen. It doesn't satisfy in the way you would hope a movie with traditional pacing to satisfy, but I urge anyone watching the movie to think about what they did with the structure and why. It's pretty cool when wrapped up with final monologue, I think.

No Country For Old Men would be pretty high on my most overrated movies of all time list. I enjoyed parts, but by the end I felt like I'd wasted my time.

Did you watch the other ending? Llewelyn , having faked his death, kills Chigurth , saves his wife, and becomes the Sheriff of Bumfuck.

No Country for Old mens ending seems less surprising if you read the book I hear.

I still hold to the point that the marketing is what really screwed the film, you watch any trailer for it and it sets the WHOLE film up for a showdown between the two, so understandably when you go to see a film where the whole thing is a showdown between two guys and then you don't get the showdown, you'd be pissed.

That's what I was waiting for. -_-

I just watch 7 seasons of 00s TMNT and Turtles Forever. I had a smile on my face for maybe the first hour of 'Forever' once the 80s Turtles appeared. There are just so goofy. I'm almost tempted to track that series down and go through it.

I consider it more of a moving that didn't have a beginning or an end. Just a moment in time.

My problem with the ending has nothing to do with the lack of a showdown. I just hate that cheesy shit at the end with the kids fighting over the five dollars or so that he gives them. Be more hamfisted.

They should have ended it with the conversation between the sheriff and his father.

I'm pretty sure he gave them a $100. Not sure if that changes your opinion at all, though.

I was initially disappointed the first time I saw it due to the trailer but after a second viewing I really enjoyed the film once my expectations shifted. And I didn't have a problem with the ending personally, but I can see how some would.

Red Dwarf is back! Holy crap.

The last two series of the show and the Back to Earth miniseries were a bit dire, but I really really enjoyed the first episode of Red Dwarf X. Grant and Naylor are both back and the episode felt like classic Dwarf with modern special effects and sets.

Really? I found that past my initial reaction, I felt that she did a god job showing the stress of her character's position.
There were moments where she looked.... old.
As for being annoying, I dunno any characters she has played anywhere where she hasnt played an energetic, spunky, fast talking woman child. That might be annoying to some, but not me.
Her role in this episode made that character seem more real.
But thats just my opinion.

Not a Day fan at all really. Liked her on The Guild well enough but that same character on other stuff is a bit much.
