Getting a bit better with the K&M setup and Battlefield 3 on the PC. Still, it sucks having to slog back through the early unlocks to get my favorite weapons back. Also leveled up a bit in Borderlands 2, so I'm not as radioactive to playing co-op. Which, interestingly, I've not done yet with anyone. I think arriving late to the game handicapped my chances, as everyone I see on my Steam list who plays is double digit levels.

My ham-handed grasp of the Spanish language continues, but tonight Senorita Kato's mother is cooking me authentic arroz con pollo. This should be good.

BF3 looks amazing on PC though doesn't it? You never answered me last week when I asked what company you went with for the PC. Or I didn't see the response.

That's cool, Gorvi. I'm actually looking forward to getting to the part of the game where I can do charcoal rubbings. Those little touches are what I like about games like that. Helps mix up the pace a bit.

Now if I have to do a charcoal rubbing of the final boss during the battle, that might be pushing things too far...

I never saw your question! I chose iBuyPower based on you people and your rabid opinions. Saw a lot of criticism online, but so far, my experience has been excellent: setup took no time at all, rig is so quiet I think it's cheating on me, and I can run BF3 with all settings maxed. Color me pleased.

Boom baby! Ibuypower for the win. I talked a couple Cogers into them and none are unhappy. And I think Widget went with them as well and is super happy. I see a lot of negativity about EVERYTHING on the internet

No lie a couple days ago I was on a coupon site and someone was complaining about getting free items. No real issue...just upset that they only wanted 2 free items but the coupon was for 3...

Congrats. I love that company.

And yes, BF3 looks spectacular on the PC. Shot a jet down last night with the Stinger on the Armored Kill night map and the sky blossomed in glorious gold and orange death.

I had a game this week where the guy was turtling so bad with archers that I couldn't get in to do anything. Instead I got 3 grunts out with spike armor and pushed them across the map one turn at a time with a healer and mage in tow. It was pretty awesome.

If you think BF3 looks good, try out Super Mario Galaxy 2. One of the most beautiful games on PC.

I wish I could play all my game consoles on my PC.

Last night I tried to get Steam to launch games and they just wouldn't come up. Not sure WTF was going on but I haven't tried it after my shutdown. Wanted to let my boy try out Torchlight...can't remember if you can use a controller with that or not.

Another family you are meeting? You are a man with a mission. The mother does know you are a gringo right?

That's what she tells all her patients when she injects them with Thorazine. Really, how well would you take it if you found out it was Thorazine?

Well, last time it was extended family at a party. This is a Latin thing, so I met with Mom as soon as possible. Yes, she's already met me several times, so I would hope she knows I'm a gringo. I did help her with some English words last night. We're on even ground: she doesn't speak much English and I don't speak much Spanish. But she thinks I'm just wonderful. After all, her daughter is very happy so why wouldn't she be?

Just don't break her heart. I don't think I need to draw a picture of Ms. Wu and her cleaver. I'm thinking that might be kind compared to what is instore for you if you hurt this woman's daughter

Speaking of my favorite game this year...and easily in my top 10 ever games...Sleeping Dogs is done. Yes ladies and gentlemen, you too kel, I have achieved all achievements in Sleeping Dogs. A first for me. My achievement cherry is broken.

Now truly onto something else.

FFXIII-2 seems to be the polar opposite of its predecessor, including in the difficulty level. Whereas FFXIII had a tightly controlled difficulty curve that prevented players from being too strong at any given time and possessed intense end-game side bosses, 13-2... doesn't. Almost disappointingly easy in all respects so far.

Edit: I "inherited" my granddad's liquor collection when he passed away two years ago. My aunt, who was in charge of sorting through the insane mess he'd hoarded in his apartment, was going to throw it all way, so I scooped it up. I've consumed most of what he left (nothing fancy), but there remains a handful of minis. I pulled one out tonight that's obviously ancient. If I had to guess, I'd say it was purchased in Germany in the 70s. It's definitely a relic.

It was also incredibly disgusting.

Well, New Little King's Story is loaded up on the ol' Vita. Looks like I have the next hour or so planned out.

Also restarted Escape Plan. I wasn't terribly far before and I need to have a refresher on the mechanics of the game. I'd like to at least make it through the main campaign!

I'd say this was a good case of self-harm. The doc would be ready to commit you if she was around.

I fired up Dwarf Fortress last night to show it to my boyfriend. I thought for sure that I had lost my big fortress to an invasion the last time I played, but it was still there. Of course I have no idea what I was working on, so it would be rather difficult to pick it back up at this point. Not that I have any time to do so, given that I spend most of my free time doing homework.

He also bought me a milkshake and fries. What a swell guy.

So I played the SH: Book Of Memories demo last night. I like it. I really like it. I wish it had been out earlier if it had been done all these months because I may have to hold off on getting it for a bit due to the game deluge this month, but it will most definitely be purchased at some point.

Tonight I shall begin my reign in NLKS.
