Dexter Season 7

Well season 7 premiered last night.
I admit I was a little hesitant last night from what I saw in the 2 minute sneak peek they released a while ago, but I thought it turned out to be an amazing episode.
I am so happy they didn't drag out Deb's unveiling of Dexter.

I gotta ask, did you like the previous season? Cause I thought it was terrible.

I thought it was alright.
And even worst season of the show is still better than most of the book series anyway.

I read up on the book series, it really sound like it jumped the shark... still doesn't make a good reason to watch the show as there are other shows to watch.

I liked the first episode. Season 6 was a little weak in my book, because it seemed like they were trying too hard to shoehorn a serial killer who mirrored Dexter's personal growth into it, especially on the heels of Season 5. It started to look more contrived than organic. I still like how they made the Prof. Part of Travis' psyche last season. That was orchestrated pretty well, even if it has become a common trope.

Anyway, I have a hard time seeing the weaknesses from the past couple of seasons carry over to this one, which will focus more squarely on Dexter and Debra than presumably ever before.

So am I. I was afraid they'd drag that shit out, but they went right for it in the end.

LaGuerta isn't too far away from finding out about Dexter, and there's also the creepy stalker tech guy. It's gonna be a good season.

I know it was renewed for 2 more seasons after season 5, so it is possible, but personally I hope it's not.

Season 8 is supposed to be the final season, and I understand that these two seasons will be playing out as a single arc, which will be a first for Dexter.

Seasons 1, 2 and 4 were amazing TV watching. I enjoyed 5, but considered 3 and 6 weak. Liking 7 a lot so far.

I really loved tonight's episode.
It looks like the russian maybe the next obstacle, and that maybe LaGuerta might be the finale.
She is a murderer, after all, so they might end up going by the ending of the first book.
Kinda curious where they are taking Yvonne's character, but I just hope she sticks around.

3 weak? Ugh.. okay. Miguel Prado was the best guest star on the entire series. Jimmy Smits rules and it was my fave season. Couldn't disagree more.

Excited for this new season and I really like the story and character arc's and how they are really focusing on Deb and Dexter more.

This season has really been spot on with its writing. I love every episode so far and I dread its eventual end. The last episode had so many great moments where plot points came together, and all the actors are really on their game. Ray Stephenson is phenomenal, along with Yvonne, and it looks like their paths will be crossing in the next episode. Really looking forward to Sunday!
