That looks amazing. This and Dragon's Crown will definitely be day one purchases.

Wait, they're blocking using the PS3 to copy your games over to the Vita now? WTF?

I'm miffed right now because my PS3 is in pieces so I can't do the workaround if I wanted to. It's annoying as it is to know that some PSP games will work on the Vita (and have been purchased on my PSP) but I can't download them directly from the store. ARG.

From what I understand it's on a per game basis. FFIII was available to copy from the PS3 or download from your purchase list on the Vita but that changed shortly after release. They are supposedly getting it approved or whatever so it's available from the Vita store.

They should have had that done first, it just looks like a botched release.

I'll be happy to try it, but I doubt that I'm going to buy it, at this point. I was excited for it around the launch of the Vita, when it was going to be part of the Silent Hill month; an action-RPG at early launch, made by Wayforward, sounded awesome! However, someone at Konami apparently wants this thing to be buried, because they're releasing it on the same day as Ragnarok Odyssey, a much more impressive-looking action-RPG. From what Wayforward said back in Spring, it sounded like they were done with the game and didn't know why it hadn't been released on time. I'm really not sure what the deal is, but there are three other really good games being released on the Vita alone (never mind other platforms) in October, and this one just doesn't look good enough to beat one of them for a day-one purchase.

I'm feeling the same way about SH:BoM. I was excited and am still rather curious about it, but I doubt I'm going to jump on it right away (for a variety of reasons) unless the demo really wows me. I'm still interested though, but with all of the slippage down the calendar, I don't have a lot of hope that it is going to scratch the itch it might once have.

Hell, if this had been done the way WayForward said it was and had come out in the summer when we had NOTHING, I'd probably have been singing its praises. But sure, throw it out there in the middle of the deluge. No biggie.

They shut a bunch of stuff down recently, both for PSP and PS1. So FFV & FFVI could be copied over and/or downloaded via the menu one day, and then not the next. I guess they caught on to what everyone was doing and pulled the plug? Still, there is no reason to release a download only PSP title without Vita support at this point. I'm actually surprised that Square didn't release optimized versions for each of the handhelds.

What is this thing that "everyone was doing"? Why don't they want us to be able to buy a game on the PS3 and move it to Vita? I feel like there's something I'm missing here.

FFV was never transferable in the US. I remember this being a day one issue. I was able to transfer FFVI to my Vita via the PS3, if they took that away that is a new one for me.

I don't understand this process, I don't know what they don't have them all in the store, the community has already proven that they work.

You could move PS1 & PSP content two ways. By downloading to a PS3 and transferring it to the Vita via the utility or going to the download list on the Vita and choosing something purchased on the PS3 and redownload it onto the Vita. The second method was the only way to move FFIII, but they blocked it specifically a few days after launch.

Yeah, I just double-checked and I may have been exaggerating. You can still transfer (some) stuff from the PS3, but not by downloading onto the Vita from the download list. So FFVI could be chosen from the list two days ago (but you're right, not FFV), but as of yesterday the Vita says the content can't be moved that way. (But FFVI does still transfer via PS3).

Anyhow, FFIII is the main offender from what I understand. Initially it could be downloaded directly to the Vita, then only transferred via the application, and now it's blocked completely. It's annoying but I still have an old PSP so if I REALLY want to play I guess I'll have to charge it up and move everything over. But I would much rather have the Vita just replace the PSP and move on. I also want a million bucks.

My thing is they have a good machine, loads of content, and they're choosing to limit what we can play. Seems to me like they should sort this all out ASAP.

I'm not touching VLR until the full game comes out. Total media blackout. 999 was amazing, I want to know absolutely nothing about VLR until I'm playing it.

Good point, LR. I was about to get excited and now I'm going to cool my jets too.

I am going to take the SH game for a spin though. I want to see if it is something I actually want to play right away or just want to wait for a price drop.

Yeah. No demo for me. I've got the amazon preorder with the watch all ready to go. I wanted to try that since I missed the watch for 999. Looking forward to it.

Is that the sequel to 999?

I still need to play the first game. It may or may not still be in the shrink wrap from when I bought it a couple of years ago.

It's an odd duck. There's probably more sitting there and reading for long stretches than in almost any other game I've played in recent memory. But if you let it, it really sucks you in.

My DS hasn't been touched in well over a year. Sometime soon I'd like to break it out and finish the games I have for it. I only ever finished a couple of them, one being Mario vs. Donkey Kong: March of the Minis. I loved that game.

Edit - Sorry, don't mean to take this off-topic. Thought I was in the WeekDay thread for a minute there.
