Honestly, having seen first and second hand how quickly people start picking over the dead, I can believe it.

Sometimes I think we'd be better off as a culture if we still just buried people with all their stuff like my ancestors did.

At the very least, the idea of "inherited debt" is a fat load of vampiric bullshit.

It might be unusual but my grandmother is currently handing over all her valuables that she doesn't think she will need again to various family members. Since she is now living in a retirement home she won't really have any estate left after passing on (such as property). I'm netting an iPad 1 out of it. Of course I hope she lives on for many more years.

Seems like a good plan to me. Slim down before you go, so there's no vulturing after you're gone.

I considered myself incredible lucky that my family didn't fight me on that stuff. I actually felt really guilty because I had expected it to come.

I think only recently did I ask my sister-in-law about anything of my brothers since he passed. Cause it's a over year later, water damage to the room it was in and she was kind of like yeah that can kind of go once the rebuilding starts. So I volunteered. I guess with slow deaths it's different though. Both he and her asked me if I wanted anything before he passed and shortly after but when people are dying, you really just want them to live, not stuff.

That said, maybe he should just juice it all and give them the money. Sock gramps and establish they lost a son and grandson over petty shit so soon. Not sure how much is left to clear up his money issues though. Maybe pay himself first and give them what's left and tell them that's all there was. Still sock gramps. Old coot.

It's always annoying that assholes like that always insist on taking their family with them.

If they just offed themselves I wouldn't mind.

Yeah, welcome to a country where mental health issues are all too often not taken seriously, and this sort of thing is often the result.

Because you hope she upgrades to an iPad 3 and passes that on to you as well?

What. The. FUCK?

Quote:
Colorado veterinarians have a message for medical marijuana users: Don't get your dog stoned. They say marijuana is toxic in a dog's system and has even resulted in some canine deaths.

"There are huge spikes in the frequency of marijuana ingestion in places where it's become legal," veterinarian Dr. Debbie Van Pelt told local CBS affiliate WTSP. "They basically have lost a lot of their fine motor control, they have a wide-based stance and they are not sure on their feet."

Before medical marijuana was legalized in Colorado, local vets say they only saw a handful of cases of dogs exposed to the substance per year. But now, those numbers have more than quadrupled.

The vets say most of the dogs are getting high off of medical marijuana edibles left out in the open by their owners. Marijuana edibles are cookies, browning and other food items prepared using a butter laced with THC, the psychoactive ingredient in pot.

And while some pet owners may think it's funny to get their dogs high, the vets say pot is actually toxic to a dog's system. Cats are similarly vulnerable to negative effects from inhaling second hand marijuana smoke or eating edibles. Cat experts say many owners inaccurately believe that marijuana will have a similar effect on their cats as catnip.

"I just want dogs, kids to be safe. It needs to be treated like any other drug. If you came home with a prescription of Vicodin from your doctor you wouldn't just leave it sitting there," veterinarian Dr. Stacy Meola told the station.

In fact, Dr. Meola said that two dogs recently died after ingesting a lethal amount of marijuana. Such deaths are rare, but even in cases where a dog's life is threatened, they are still subjected to painful symptoms, including vomiting and even comas.

"We need people to realize it is potentially toxic and potentially fatal to their pets," Van Pelt said.
Some people are just not fit to have pets.

I get that some people use companion animals, but that should not lessen the "fit to own" component of animal ownership.

Ppl probably just think its funny but general understanding that animals do not do well on human drugs is pretty low. Aspirin for example is not meant for animals and can also kill them but ppl frequently kill there pets when trying to releave there pain with over the counter medicine

I..but...there is no...

I give up. I have nothing to say on that. I refuse to even think more on this subject as I think I may hurt my brain if I do so.

"Sketti and butter" doesn't sound that strange to me. Sounds like the buttered noodles my school served on Fridays during Lent.

I hope those people are laughing all the way to the bank for making fools of themselves. :\
