I built a magic find set weeks ago and I can't say I've noticed much of a difference in yellow drops. I'm starting to think it's smarter to build a set with the +gold find instead.

I'm not aware of any way to do that.

I'm kind of glad it's so competitive, I suppose. It always seemed too easy for some people in WoW, for instance, to corner a market and just name their prices.
The WoW AH on some servers was completely nonsense. On Garona, prices were driven eternally upward by a player that listed hundreds, maybe thousands of things for 10-100x the normal rate.

Video game economies have taught me that regulation is good and necessary . When people have free reign, they will manipulate the shit out of the system for their own gain. *Glares at Wall Street*

I could make so much god damn money in WoW with just 30 minutes a day...

People are still manipulating the shit out of it, but it's so sensitive you have to really know what you're doing. And really besides gambling it's the only way to make any real money in the game thanks to constant nerfs.

So when you say Pikens is the unofficial RP server, you're saying people play, chat and act "in-character" on that server?

Yes. It's not universal as there's no official RP server designation and obviously no enforcement, but it's got the highest concentration of people who do.

I've gone to Tarnished Coast (unofficial RP for US) too now, the Goons on Maguuma being worse then ever. As I knew they would be but had hoped the rest of the server could make up for them... they couldn't, Goons are too unbearable.

Second thing I saw besides some typical map chat bullshit, a furry looking to yiff. So there's that too.

Another reason I still have Map chat off. I actually forget it even exists.

On the RP servers, you still have to seek it out. If you don't, you could play for weeks without knowing a thing about it, as I'm sure people do. The main difference is that you could actually find it on the unofficial RP servers if you wished, where other servers might just get you "lol wtf r u doin?"

If I could, I would. But I think that is only a food buff. I definitely use it, too. Yay for omnomberries, or raspberries if you're poor like me.

If I read correctly some of the light research done by other players, magic find doesn't just help with getting better quality equipment, but also higher amounts of the fine crafting mats and such.

I understand the disgust at someone wanting to cyber, but I still find it pathetic how, whenever a gay person is discriminated based on their orientation, we find the discrimination abhorrent and rush to defend the victim, but OH NOES FURRIES ARE DISGUSTING GTFO FURRY.

I'm not saying that's what's being said here--I know it's not--but I've seen it before on these forums and the hypocrisy kind of irritates me.

I believe there's a superior rune that gives something like +30% gold find on the 6th set bonus, but I also think it's one of the more expensive runes last I looked. I could be crazy and making this all up though.

What stats are you guys shooting for on your 80s? For my warrior, I'm dumping my karma into the more balanced set of exotic, 42k-ers (which I'll reskin with the Norn T1 cultural at some point) and I think I'm going to craft a pure offensive exotic set with a mix of Power/Precision/Tough and Power/Precison/Crit% as I gather mats. Condition dmg doesn't seem all that great for a warrior and I have a bunch anyway from dumping 25 points into the second tree.

As I posted above, I'm going for survivability, and using a bloodlust rune to supplement damage. Either a Knight's or Soldier's armor set - the Norn cultural armor isn't actually called Soldier's, but it's the same stat spread - with runes of the soldier. That's the plan until something better smacks me in the face, anyway.

I won't get into this discussion (carry it to P&R), but I will say that I wouldn't be surprised if there were homosexuals that get offended that you put them in the same category as people that dress up in animal costumes and have sex with each other . The former may be controversial in some circles, but the latter is just weird.

Furries don't really do that.

I would like to refer to the God of Geeks, Mr. Randall Munroe:

Also, the hypocrisy remains. You find it weird for exactly the same reason some straight people find homosexuality weird.

Nobody cares about their sexual tastes, that's the whole problem. Furries are hated for being loud, obnoxious, whiny attention whores who get offended at the drop of a hat all the while proudly displaying even the most terrifying aspects of their fetish. This coupled with an incredible disconnect with reality (fursonas; the idea that people want to see their terrible art; injecting fur shit into every aspect of life) that we're supposed to welcome with open arms makes them some of the worst people on the Internet.

That's a pretty big generalization. I'm no furry, but I've known tons of them, and not one has ever showed the traits you ascribe to every single furry on the planet.
