Nintendo Announces WiiU Launch Titles: 23 Games To Choose

Nintendo has officially revealed which games will be available for the WiiU launch on November 18. Those games are, in alphabetical order:

Assassin's Creed 3
Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
Darksiders 2
Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two
ESPN Sports Connection
FIFA Soccer 13
Game Party Champions
Just Dance 4
New Super Mario Bros. U
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
Nintendo Land
Rabbids Land
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Sing Party
Skylanders Giants
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition
Transformers Prime
Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper
Wipeout 3
Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013

Some titles you may have been expecting to be launch titles are missing from that list. Nintendo announced an additional 18 titles which will be released during the WiiU's launch window, which Nintendo defines as running until March 31. You can see the list of those titles by clicking the 'more' button.

The WiiU launches November 18 in two models: the $299 base unit with 8GB memory and the $349 deluxe with 32GB memory, Nintendo Land and a charging cradle.

That's not a bad list. Nothing that's "OMG must have!", but not bad nonetheless.

I'm looking forward to picking up Scribblenauts Unlimited on the PC.

For a new console launch, that's pretty solid. I'm going to grab Nintendo Land (pack-in), NSMB U, and either ZombiU or Epic Mickey 2 depending on reviews.

It's nice to know that Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, and Rayman Legends will be dropping before March 31st as those are all high on my list as well.

My pick of the bunch has to be Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper! WO2 was great.

Looks like a pretty solid launch lineup, at least there are some more games there that I would play.

Damn. I'm really tempted to get Epic Mickey and Creed 3 on this system if the reviews hold up. If I'm going to get the machine, might as well start getting the games for it.

So, games you can already play on your PC/360/PS3, games you will be able to play on your PC/360/PS3, a 2D Mario side-scroller, and shit that no body in the whole wide world cares about. I guess it's decent if all you've been gaming on is a Wii, but I think most of those people aren't exactly... core gamers. I don't see anything there to fit with the Wii Sports appeal of the Wii, if that even still exists.

They have P* in their pocket on this one. With the Ninja Gaiden, Darksiders 2, Batman Armoured editions they are pretty much saying they will be 'me too' when it comes to the triple AAA titles that usually hit sony and microsoft.

Lego City Undercover and Pikmin 3 both look good. The rest look pretty meh, but I'd like to play those two. Not sure I'd buy a console to play them though. Maybe after a price drop.

I think GTA: Lego City is going to have a novelty that will ware thin pretty quickly.

I haven't spent much time with GTA, so I doubt it would grow stale for me. I like the Lego games I've played so far.
