The Mummy [Reboot]
Universal wants to film a reboot of The Mummy and have it released in 2014. Is there really that much of a deficit of screenwriters?? This iteration is to be written by the guy that did Prometheus & Darkest Hour and directed by the Underworld's series director.

As I said in the other thread I also want Kate to be an evil mummy in the new version. I actually think she has a unique and good look for it.
I also LOVED the 1st one, liked the 2nd one, and watched the 3rd one.

I always remember The Mummy series as the only movies I've ever liked Brendan Fraser in. That and they introduced my teenage self to Rachel Weisz, who was probably one of my first celebrity crushes.
A reboot is probably needed to be honest. The first movie was good, the second was ok, but by the time they got Jet Li involved the series had jumped the shark. It's a good idea if they want to go back to the basics...or as basic as an all powerful immortal resurrected mummy can be. |

Well they rebooted Spiderman (albeit for other licence reasons) so The Mummy doesn't shock me.
I enjoyed both the first two, and my brain has thrown up walls to protect me from the 3rd. Brendan Fraiser was awesome in them.
