I won't disagree with you about FTL, frederec, but I think it's a matter of perspective. I start each game knowing they are going to all die horribly. It's the times where they manage to survive that bring me joy.

Does CoG just die randomly? I couldn't access it for a couple hours. I had to go do homework instead.

Also, with my Amazon credit I got Mumford & Son's new album plus FFXII-2. I enjoyed the first one much more than I thought, and this one supposedly one-ups it. I'm still loving GW2, but it wouldn't break my heart to take another break and let the devs put out some more patches.

That sounds like Dwarf Fortress.

Now I need to play FTL.

I'm enjoying Borderlands 2, but let's be honest. This is a co-op game. Solo play just isn't viable.

Guild Wars 2 is fun, much more so since I joined fellow Coggers on their server. I'm working my way through the Human starter area and my plant hottie's personal story.

But you know what? There's something sticking in my brain. It has grabbed a hold of me, and it won't let go. It whispers sweet promises and teases me with golden dreams. I want it so bad I can taste it.

October 9th cannot arrive soon enough.

It's worth playing, really. As long as you're not the type prone to violent fits of rage.

I've been hearing good things about the game for months. It's on my wishlist, so I'll get around to it eventually...probably around the time that we discover achieve FTL travel ourselves.

It helped that it was only like $8 when I bought it (on sale for a whole dollar!). I'm a little surprised I've played it as much as I have. For instance, I've gone in on every single one of the Humble Indie Bundles, but have played very little of any of the games.

I'm having a ton of fun playing solo. Seems viable to me.

I'm still waiting for ADD to begin playing again. She was the biggest Fable fan. Not sure where all the love for games went.

Thanks for the assist with the tags. I'm sure Pale Ale is relieved now

I found it more frustrating than fun. My loot drops were terrible as well.

That sucks. There's been maybe two fights that were a little hard and a tad frustrating, but other than that, it's been pretty easy and really fun. I didn't have much luck when I recently played BL1, but I've gotten a few purple Maliwan SMGs for my Siren that I'm really happy with. Hope you have better luck if you keep playing it solo or more chances for co-op since that's more fun for you.

Every so often it hiccups, but usually they kick the hamster that runs the wheel that powers the server and it gets back up and running pretty fast. I guess it was down for a bit today but I was busy so I didn't mind

You do. Like I said, go into it expecting to have your ship reduced to a flaming wreck with all hands dead within 2-3 turns. That way every time you stay alive longer, it's cause for celebration

Same here. I didn't really enjoy soloing as the GunZerker (the Captain Flynt fight was utterly cheap and cheesy) but I'm loving it as the commando. My turret is my friend. I still miss my hawk from the first game, but the turret will do.

So the PC version of McPixel is out. I loved it on the iPad and had to throw the $5 at it just to support it (and to show that some of these Greenlight games are worth it!)

If you haven't had a chance to try it out yet, it's like a combination of Warioware and a point & click adventure game. You have about 20 seconds per scenario to try to keep a bomb from going off. There's usually one correct method to defusing the bomb (though it can often be pretty out there) and then lots of silly gags that come from the way you interact with objects on the screen.

It's got a lot to it (something like 100 levels) and there's even some free DLC which are user created levels. Highly entertaining

Well, last night I got to the end of what appears to be the end of chapter three of Witcher 2. Another fight where I got frustrated and went to bed. I hope it ends up like the other times that's happened in this game and the real problem was that I was too tired to keep playing.

I think that I've done everything possible to screw up the ending. My witcher, after things going bad early thanks to having an ounce of mercy and humanity in him, now basically says, "Fuck 'em all. Everyone's corrupt. Let the world burn." I loved the bit in chapter three where...

you're trying to figure out which noble ordered the hit on the bastard children, and it turns out both of them did and the de-facto regent decides to ally with the noble whose scheme to kill the kids didn't work because the other noble diverted the caravan. Yeah, you were going to do the same thing. You just didn't succeed, so you didn't commit as egregious of a crime.
Burn, Temeria, burn.

Mrs. got a bread machine for a grand total of $2 at the local auction house yesterday. We plugged it in last night and it works. The thing still had a Christmas card from 1996 from the gift giver to the receiver in the box. It looks like it was unused, ever. The funny thing was that right as the weekly auction started, the power went out and the auction house decided to keep running in the dark. Mrs. has a flashlight on her keychain, so she was able to look in the junk boxes that other people couldn't. I love that woman.

The only thing that was able to snap me out of watching that image over and over was the squirrel that ran by with a huge bundle of nuts in his mouth.

Spend a good half an hour viewing a non-profit's Human Rights documentary material in order to decide if I wanted to include it in my list of teaching resources. I was pretty satisfied with everything- spot on with the UN's vision, good production values, varied material- good stuff. Then, out of curiosity, I hit up Google to see where the money for this organization came from.

The Church of Scientology.

So much for that. The last thing the University needs is to distribute left-leaning materials funded by L. Ron Hubbard's creepy cult machine.

Spigot, you weren't kidding around when you said that you were upping your game in Hero Academy. It's like playing a whole different person.
