Actually, I put an hour into God Eater a couple of days ago and I think, finally, the PSP might have delivered a game where the controls are too much for me. Was able to play Peacewalker pretty much OK (face button aiming and all).
Yeah, I think you're right, and I'm pretty sure it was LoA that had a demo. It wasn't bad, but I have little experience with those kinds of games. At least we have Ragnarok Odyssey to look forward to next month.

EDIT: Is the original God Eater worth picking up?

I would be all over this. I played the hell out of the Wii version, but I'd do it all again, especially with extra content.

Hmm, after one hour it's tough to say. The tutorial was pretty horrible. It was along the lines of this is how you do this really complex thing, ok, now do it one time, ok you're good, onto the next thing. After about 30 minutes of that I was feeling kind of confused and irritated. I've done one of the missions so far but I'm not sure whether I might have to go back and do the tutorial again just to have a clue about how to play.

If you go by the reviews it's probably worth getting, especially since you can map the Vita's 2nd analog stick. For the time being I've just gone back to Ys 1&2 Chronicles.

My eyes would have some kind of orgasm upon seeing Muramasa on that screen. It was drop-dead gorgeous on the Wii and I will definitely be grabbing it. The rest... eh. Nothing really lights my fire...

Wow, it's a bit of a vote of no confidence in Vita to be putting it out on PSP too. Still, the game looks cool.

It was originally announced only for the PSP a while back, the Vita version is what was just announced this week.

I still don't understand Sony's approach to the Vita. It's a great piece of hardware and a lot of the games on it are quite good. But the company itself is acting like it doesn't exist and it's only 6-7 months old. WTF?

Still, I'm surprised they're going ahead on PSP regardless of what was previously announced.

I wouldn't say Sony is, but many Japanese developers are. I still scratch my head every time I see a new game announced for the PSP. Sony really, really needs to push devs to move these projects to the Vita, and the Vita only, because as it is now it's not getting the support it needs

Aside from what I said above, there are a ton of them out there. I don't agree with it, though.

Yeah, I mean, I can see Namco Bandai's reasoning, more copies sold equals more profit. But, basically repeating what you said, Sony should be doing whatever they can to encourage Namco Bandai to make God Eater 2 a Vita exclusive. It isn't Monster Hunter but it has traction in the Monster Hunter crowd. It would sell a few Vitas (might still).

I think back to E3 where I don't think they even mentioned the Vita during the presser. At best, it had a passing reference.

I know it has been a bit better recently and in Japan, but man...

Yeah, I really don't get it. It's an amazing handheld, and they just don't seem to care, at all.

I think they care but they have too much pride somehow. I keep hearing how Sony doesn't pay for exclusives but, if true, they should start.

Even if that's the case, they need to get one or two of their internal studios cranking some games out.

Yeah, that I'd agree with. From a first party standpoint the support hasn't been bad, but they need more 3rd party support. That being said, this Fall looks great for the Vita, with Silent Hill, Ragnarok, Assassin's Creed, Persona 4, Need for Speed (which is supposed to be great on the Vita), Zero Escape, Orgarythm, and hell, even Call of Duty, PS All Stars, and Street Fighter X Tekken for those who are into them. This Fall isn't what I'd worry about, it's next year.

Next year all we really know about is Sly Cooper, Killzone, Soul Sacrifice, Muramasa, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Guacamelee, Tearaway, and hopefully Ys and Legend of Heroes for the US. We need to see more announcements, the system is fantastic, it needs more attention.

My thoughts exactly. Who was asking for that, exactly? They had promise when the first was announced but they've been terrible games. I never tried them aside from the demo for the first on the PSP, were they any better when they ported them to the Wii?

That's a great idea, actually. Now who would that need to be sent to at SEGA? They need a kick in the ass to get that game over here.
