Borderlands 2 Launch Trailer

It's almost that day. Tomorrow you'll be able to return to Pandora in Borderlands 2 and blow the crap out of insane little people with "a bazillion guns". If you haven't seen it yet, Gearbox has created an online skill tree for each of the 4 characters to let you plan out your builds now. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford also gave some hints as to what's coming as DLC.
Quote:
"I've always wanted to ride a sail barge and drive a sand skiff [as in Return of the Jedi]," said Pitchford. "I've always wanted to do that, and we've got some cool stuff that's along those lines."
Borderlands 2 launches tomorrow. At that time you'll be able to buy a season pass which gets you all four planned DLC modules for $30, a $10 discount over buying them piecemeal.

My body is ready.

Unfortunately we have to wait until Friday here.

Cool trailer though. I like that they included the original characters too. I really hope we get some DLC to let us play as them at some point.

I am sooo debating on grabbing the dlc but I can afford to not save 10$. Ah wells. There's DLC I'd skip in borderlands 1 so I think this will be the best course.

Is the season pass going to always be available? If I wait until next year will I be able to pay $30 for all DLC, even if some of it has already released?

Yeah, an extra 30 bucks is too big of a commitment for me at this point. I really never got around to playing through all of the DLC for the first game. Besides, you know there will be some crazy Steam sale for the complete package at some point.

AFAIK, the season passes for other games don't leave the XBL marketplace. In fact they ran a sale on the Gears 3 SP just last week. And that answers another question: yes, season passes to go on sale, even on XBL. I'm still buying the SP because Borderlands 1 was one of my all time favorites, and all of the DLC was a blast, but it does make sense for fence sitters to wait and see.

I'll need to wait to see how the PC version fairs, considering what happened with the first game, before I grab this.

Well, the did write a love letter to PC gamers, so I hope that is a sign of their commitment to a better PC experience this time around.

Gearbox knows they hurt you bad, PC players, but they're gonna make it right.

As much as I appreciate the humor, and I think I do trust them to make good, the fact that you need to list V-sync and mouse scrolling as bullet features in 2012 guarantees that I won't buy your game on launch day. If it turns out that the PC version is great, then awesome.

I still don't understand the hate leveled at the PC version. It was rough around the edges, but immensely playable and fun. Granted, it's the only version my friends and I have played, but we've had hundreds of hours of fun with it without feeling like it's a shitty port.

Did you play it at launch? Cause it was a broken piece of crap. It wasn't until months later that they fixed it.

I hope they keep that tone throughout the game, with Handsome Jack acting like he's the hero of the story. As that would be awesome I think.

*shrug* I thought the PC version was fine at launch and in general, but then, I play in a window and never have FOV problems.

Seriously, the bitching around here makes me wonder if people were playing a different game than me.

I don't hate the first game, but if you think the game was "fine" at launch for anything other than 99% of users, then why do you think Gearbox felt the need to write that letter?

Because it was "fine" but it could have been better, and they want to let people know they're pulling out all the stops this time.

For those last minute people, Green Man Gaming has a new discount code to drop the price to $36. GMG20-AWDF9-Q1PEY
It's also applicable on the Season Pass, if you haven't grabbed that yet.
