Know what's strange? Teachers are never drug tested. I'm guessing they could force you if you made it very obvious, but no school will ever ask you to get tested before being hired, public or private.

Oh, that old thing. Kinda true in some ways, especially some of the crappier schools out there, but its sad how little respect being a teacher will get you these days. It used to be teachers and doctors were loved by the people they served, but that's rare now. Teachers are often more responsible for children then their parents, they spend more time with them, teach them more and socialize with them more and get shit on by the community for it.

I'm not trying to complain here, its just a curious change that I wonder about sometimes.

Drugs aren't a big issue as far as I know. Though, you guys probably wouldn't be surprised by how much booze teachers consume. I've seen big groups of mid 50's ladies go crazy for "margarita night!!!"
