Seeing if any interest in having a Raffle

I was thinking of holding a raffle for the Chiruwa Ang Khola since it's a pricy knife to start with, being that it's hand made by a Nepalese Kami from a high end car steel spring coil.

So, thought I would test out this idea and see if there's enough interest to hold a raffle for this knife at about $10 per ticket with at least 15 tickets or more. That way, everyone has a chance at winning this knife and not break the bank. After a set time, I can use the website www.random.org to choose the number.

Perhaps if there is a large amount of interest and lots of tickets being sold, I could add more prizes including a Roomba 350, DVDs (of the winner's choice), and maybe even my Tirtha Bowie knife.

Here's the knife for the raffle ticket idea:

Let me know what you guys think.

Edit: DoctorFinger has already approved the raffle idea should I go ahead with it.

Just make sure you don't use Paypal or Amazon payments because they don't allow raffles and can take all your money (at least according to the GWJ guys).

While, I would totally buy your knife for $10, I don't think I'd pay for a small chance to win it. Good luck, though!

I'll think about it. Might've reached my spending limit on knives for this month.

I'd give it a whirl for $10. I imagine it will be pretty decent odds and it goes to a fellow Cogger.

Not to rain on a parade or anything, but I want to make it exceptionally clear that CoG has NOTHING to do with this raffle and we can't be held to anything that has to do with it. Any questions/issues should be completely and totally directed towards OldeWolf.

This is his raffle (should he go through with it) and all winnings/rules/etc are his responsibility.

Also, this isn't CoG saying he can't do this. Just CoG saying we have nothing to do with this.

Keep in mind, I'm doing this thread to see how much interest there is for this knife (Or just about anything I listed that I own). I've never done a raffle before but always wanted to try it.

Having paypal being anal about raffle ticket sales (even tho it's for a good reason) put a little hitch to this idea as I have no other ideas as a money medium.

Perhaps if everyone buys a raffle ticket, everyone "wins" a dvd except for the actual winner getting the knife. That way it can be classified as buying something real instead of a raffle ticket. Plus I chose CoG due to the community and the folks within. Who else other than you guys deserve to have a chance to try and win something fun such as this knife and other items.

But this wont happen until the end of the month when I get back from my much needed vacation (after 2 years of no vacation). And yes, I bear all responsibility and such just as Psykoboy said. The only thing CoG related is getting permission to do such out of respect to this site.

As always, I'm opened to suggestions.

Or I'll just keep the knife and use it as a barter for a tattoo with a tattoo artist + cash since there is only a few smattering of interest.
