Oh man, Klonoa! I almost finished that a couple years back when I was digging through my PS1 and PS2 games in an effort to stave off buying new stuff for a few weeks

That would probably look very nice on the Vita screen.

And it wouldn't cost the $80+ it was going for on disc. Does it hold up?

Oh, it held up fantastically when I played it a year or two ago. I loved the sequel too but haven't played it in years. Such great games.

I just need to finish the first one so I can see if I'm manly enough not to cry (I hear it's a pretty downer ending).

I'll have to give that a shot some time, I've only played the sequel as by the time I became interested in Klonoa it was prohibitively expensive. Back when I was actively trying to fill up my PS1 collection it was one of those games that just went for crazy amounts on eBay.

Does anyone know if you can make the screen bigger when playing PS1 games?

Yes, hold your finger on the touch screen while playing a PSOne game and an option menu will pop up.

I might go back to my modded PSP for PSOne games because it has a "save state" built into it. At least for games that require me to find a save point. Not cool for intermittent gaming throughout the day.

Klonoa is lovely on the Vita screen. I only played a little bit of it but it upscales rather nicely.

Can't wait to have an easy way to get Vagrant Story on there. I remember playing it on the PS2 with texture smoothing and it looked like an entirely different game from the PS1.

Not to sound snarky, but that's what sleep mode is for. The only way that really becomes a burden is if you want to jump between different games and can't wait to find a save point.

Can you do other functions things while a PSOne game is open? I might have to look into that. If you can sleep mode will probably work ok.

You're restricted to what you could do with any Vita or PSP game, so you can't open the web browser, maps, video player, or start up another game or app (Netflix, YouTube, etc...). The web browser or YouTube would be nice for checking things regarding a game, but I just use my phone for that.

The Vita got a small boost in Japan from the release of Hastune Miku. 50,070 units sold, although still outsold by the 3DS (44,951 + 29,342). Miku sold 159,592 copies.

Wow, imagine that, it gets a boost when games are released that actually appeal to a Japanese market.......

Last night Sony added remote play support for the God of War collection & ICO/SOTC. Doesn't matter if it's the disc or digital version. You will need to launch them on the PS3 first to take the update then you should be good to go. I haven't tried it but they supposedly play quite nicely.

I can't seem to get near or Google Maps to work for me on my wifi Vita. It connects to my wifi fine but google maps just errors out and tells me it can't find my location. Actually, I think Google Maps not working is causing near to not work. Oh well... maybe that is the price I pay for getting a wifi only version.

Tried Treasure Park today. First off, it turned my Vita off when I first turned it on. That wasn't a good sign. I restarted the system and fired it up again and fiddled with it a bit. All I can say is... wtf?

It's like some kind of incredibly obtuse Minesweeper. Can you use the coins you win in it for something? If not, why on earth does this exist.

And that's coming from me, seneschal of the obscure and unloved.

Had the same problem for the first few weeks. Don't forget to register your wi-fi connection with Skyhook
