So what odds do you guys give for the following characters dying by the end of the show:

Watching him try and manipulate Jesse was the last of his humanity slipping away, for me. Jesse has now become the adult voice of reason in the relationship, and Walt is the junkie. He's an ego junkie.

I wonder when Walt realized he'd have to finish off Mike. The actual act of shooting him was kind of a crime of passion, when he was in a rage, but he pre-meditatively took his gun from the bag for precisely that reason. Did he make the airport run for the bag to get the legacy names knowing he'd might have to kill Mike afterwards?

I can't imagine much fazing Jesse. He is tortured and has given up. Skyler is keeping such a distance physically and emotionally from Walt, that it's sort of purging her. Walt Jr. needs to be in the show for him to die. They've been doing well without him. It would be a shame to drag him back for a 2-episode arc to kill him. Hank is in trouble. |

Agreed with everything you said. Hank is in real trouble, mainly because Walt needs him for the dance, but he also won't accept failure. Just like Mike used to be needed.
I bet Walt has been seriously considering killing Mike for some time, and became prepared when he saw Mike's gun. It could have been a crime of passion, but I actually think he had a wave of fear/uncertainty and just didn't have the balls to shoot him the moment he should have (when Mike pulled the bag from him).

Well, I think it was pretty obvious that Walt was planning on killing Mike from the second episode, after they divided up the money. Remember what he said to Jessy?

True. I mean, yeah, he's never considered him more than Fring's strong arm, even back then. And clearly he doesn't even have attachment even to Jesse (despite how he pretends to like and respect him).

Does Walt really trust Todd enough with a written copy of his whole recipe/procedure?
When does the tarantula in a jar show up again? Didn't that look like way more than $5M minus the "nine guys" cut in Mike's granddaughter's deposit box? (Maybe this is just "Hollywood money", it always looks bigger than real money.) Long shot finale prediction: Jesse and Skyler join forces against Walt.

I'm most eager to see Jesse next week. He has to hear "Someone killed Mike" as "Walt killed Mike". Also, hearing Walt taunt Jesse with, "You've got nothing and no one..." makes me wish Jesse reached some reconciliation with his family. I was very sympathetic towards them. Maybe they'll find a way to give Jesse some peace. Sucks that both of Kaylee's cash stashes are in the evidence locker now, and Mike didn't even get to say goodbye to her. I hope Jesse gets something better than that. |

ONE FUCKING BOX

Whatever. Walt Jr is taking out Walt.
My thing is, how can the DEA tie that money to anything aside from hush money. They don't know how he earned it. Aren't safety deposit boxes safe from that kind of thing? If it's in the families names and what not are they going to go after them.

If they lose their witnesses (i.e. Walt goes and kills the other 9) then I suppose they don't have a case, and the money could go back to the safety deposit boxes. Right now it's evidence in a criminal investigation, so it's tied up until they finish assembling the rest of the evidence. That's how I saw it, at least.

KISS MY AXE!

I started watching this a while ago and have just caught up. I'm really glad I'm up to date for the last few episodes.
I hate Skylar with a fiery passion, possibly because she reminds me of my ex in the way she reacts to stuff (something upsets her, so she completely shuts down and refuses to talk about it, followed by a long period of pretending that everything is fine while clearly being incredibly frosty towards Walt. And never addresses the actual problem, real or imagined.) I think her reaction to everything is just as much a part of Walt's transformation as his own actions. At no point has she ever acknowledged that Walt has done some crazy shit in order to provide for his family. I'd hardly expect her reaction to be placidly accepting, but it's been relentless hostility. |

Great episode to end the half-season.
Also, this guy has been putting together some good Breaking Bad comic artwork:

Both montages in this episode were flat-out amazing. The second one, was among the best ever in TV or film.
