That's pretty much what I do, except instead of an iPod I have headphones plugged into my GPS which also has a mp3 player. It kind of sucks because there is a wire connecting me to the bike at that point, so when I get off to get gas or something I have to unplug it or take the headphones (and the helmet) off.
I use a full face helmet, so it's pretty quiet under it and I don't need earplugs. My bike is pretty quiet too, so that helps.
I really want one of those helmets with built in bluetooth speakers and microphone. Too bad they are so damn expensive.

The day I strike it rich, I'll purchase an original Greenframe 1974 Ducati 750 Super Sport, one of the most beautiful machines man has ever produced.

It speaks your dialect! Triumph really makes a solid bike nowadays. No leaky leaky.

I love my bike, recently rolled over 10k miles on it. Needs a new front tire and an oil change, and then to be ridden hard another 10k.

This makes me miss my bike. I sold it off last fall.

Sorry in advance for this, then: here's the most recent pic (mine's on the right, the left is my buddy's old Harley). This shows the mini-ape hangers and headlight eyelid shroud I've added. We rode half an Ironbutt that day... 500 miles in 13 hours. That's what got my odometer over 10,000 miles and gave me a near-3rd-degree sunburn (even with sunblock... I'm a white white boy).

Prefer a straighter bar myself, but she's still gorgeous.

Thanks. I still have residual back problems, so laid back is the only way I can ride. It actually straightens my back out to ride all day. A cafe racer layout would put me back in surgery.
