My favorite part of the game I think is the combat. I'm playing as a Guardian, running a Sword/Focus and Greatsword combo, traited out to take advantage of blinds, and the combat feels meaty, strategic and skillful. In large groups it becomes stupid fun, but in smaller groups it's really good.

I'm having trouble really getting engaged by the game. The story (Human Noble for me so far) is meh, but I seem to enjoy the Engineer class. I just wish the game grabbed me a bit more than it is so far. I know it's still VERY early, as I only hit level 5...but I dunno. It's overwhelming at parts, because I have no real structure besides my story quest. I got lost in PvP for about and hour and had no idea how to LEAVE it until someone told me to go to my hero tab :P

Still, the fact it doesn't have a monthly fee? Very happy about that and means I'll be playing it off and on a lot.

There seems to be an awful lot of compromised accounts for a game that is so new. This guy claims to have some knowledge of a vulnerability. Hopefully they fix whatever is wrong soon (assuming it's not the usual phishing/weak password issues), as their response to hacked accounts is to ban them outright and then sort out the mess later.

I had three emails pop up in my inbox in the last couple hours saying I requested a password reset. Luckily my email password is different from my GW2 password so they wouldn't have been able to login and change it, unless they somehow keylogged me, but gmail doesn't show any unusual logins.

While I suspect it's mostly people getting keylogged/phished as always, there is a nasty Java exploit that allows people to get keylogged through no fault of their own.

EDIT: depending on your surfing habits, you may wish to disable java for the time being: instructions here

GW2 is making it incredibly difficult for me to enjoy the MoP beta. I got 2 combat abilities in an hour of playing a new monk. Wheee.

I love love love the weapon-based skill system.

I rolled my thief through dagger/dagger, dagger/pistol, pistol/dagger (and I love how different those feel based on which you have in your offhand), and shortbow last night, unlocking all the 5-slot skills for all of them, and every one felt unique and satisfying.

Being able to dash in quick and slash up a group of enemies with two daggers is awesome. Ducking and rolling around while you pepper an area with poison arrows is awesome. Stabbing a guy and then leaping backwards to shoot him in the face with your pistol is awesome.

I've never had anything like this much fun in MMO combat. I don't know if it'll hold up, but they've designed a great feeling structure here that I'm really eager to keep playing with.
