Seems that way! But really, I doubt that's the case 99% of the time.

Going off of what SilentScreams said, I don't know how many times someone has tried to correct me for writing "theatre". Even Firefox underlines it, although it's an acceptable spelling.

It's the proper spelling of it. I try to use proper English, re and u everywhere. Except the s/z thing. Civilization looks better then civilisation. Also it gives z a bit of needed love.

Usually, with context and a history of communication, it is clear when a mistake is made. When it's written ON PURPOSE in complete obliviousness, THAT'S when it makes my skull quake.
It is possible to understand context and usage of an incorrect word. And when some high school kid on youtube says "u loose becuz ur dum," I'm pretty damn sure that it's not a slip of the keyboard.

Just wait until we are sending thoughts to each other through a nano-molecular hard wire in the brain. You want to talk about annoying spelling errors, take away the brain to hand aspect of communication.

This whole grammar discussion reminds me of something Marcus Aurelius says: "It was the critic Alexander who put me on my guard against unnecessary fault-finding. People should not be sharply corrected for bad grammar, provincialisms, or mispronunciation; it is better to suggest the proper expression by tactfully introducing it oneself in, say, one's reply to a question or one's acquiescence in their sentiments, or into a friendly discussion of the topic itself (not of the diction), or by some other suitable form of reminder." |

I correct all of your pronunciation all of the time but you never seem to catch it.

We can all take solace in the fact that someone that fucking stupid is likely to have done something like leave the phone on. Most phones now have GPS. The police likely already know that whoever they talked to isn't the owner of the phone, has made threats, and there's a good chance they only called back in order to locate the phone. Good game.

Most phones can locate using cell towers, whic has a high margin of error. If you are in a crowded area, bot much can be done.
