I read an article a while back where Youtube invited the "top" people, like Ray Williams, to their campus. They taught them various techniques and gave them free equipment.

The top ten Youtubers make six figure dollars through profit sharing.

I think the cutaways are to hide breaks in dialogue. Most of these people aren't very funny, especially off-the-cuff. They write out their dialogue and then shoot through one line at a time, removing the breaks later on. This creates an illusion of a stream of dialogue that would denote cleverness. It hides the essentially manufactured nature of their drivel. Or attempts to. That is my theory.

Granted, far, FAR less charismatic people have been on TV for longer.

The only one of these kinds of youtubers I occasionally enjoy is Philip Defranco. He writes a clever joke every now and then.

Also, Egoraptor and Jontron are two popular gaming guys - Egoraptor is know for his flash animations like Metal Gear Awesome, and Jontron is a popular game youtuber. They started a channel together called Game Grumps, where they play games together and Riff on them.

I've almost died laughing so many times during their videos. Definitely check them out.

I like Defranco as well. Although his show is a lot more developed than it used to be.

I don't trawl Youtube much though, so there may be better out there, but having to work through the sludge of all the unfunny, pathetic and boring people isn't worth my time.

You see that technique used by just about every twat out there.

Which is one reason I hate the internet. It made every fuck knob out there think they had something worthwhile to say. No you don't, you shitcunts. Now die in obscurity the way God intended you to.

What boils over is foam. When you touch a rough surface to foam it breaks up, like dipping your finger into the foam of a recently poured soda. In this case, the foam rises and meets the rough surface automatically.
