It wouldn't be a big deal if Image hadn't had the most amazing new series ever. That Walking Dead money is getting great use.

Mind The Gap was my biggest surprise. I have read Jim McCann's Marvel work, and it was run-of-the-mill. Mind the Gap was brilliant.

Saga's good for the art, but the story is a tad whimsical for my taste.

I can't recommend Prophet highly enough tho.

Kirkman has changed everything. Image couldn't get high-profile talent 3 years ago, beause they gave a really basic deal for creator-owned comics that meant no money upfront. The reason we never saw a 10th issue of fell.

You're absolutely right Muddi. I knocked Kirkman a little for his Manifesto a few years back, but the proof is in the pudding. Image is knocking it out of the park lately, and Vertigo is a shell of the company it used to be.

Alan Moore claimed, somewhat correctly, that he was singlehandedly supporting the American industry, because sales of his books never faltered even through the lowest point of the industry.

Kirkman seems to be his successor. Eric Stephenson, Image's publisher, also gets the credit for putting that Walking Dead money to good use and actively pursuing creators.

It is part of Liefeld's extreme studios, but it's still mostly Image money.

Hickman's other 2012 series, Secret, is also one of the free Image books. It is way better than Manhattan Projects, and I really like Manhattan Projects.
