I think the only ones where you'd buy the Vita version and get the PS3 version for free would be something like SoundShapes or similar PSN titles. That just makes sense.

Yeah even with limited play the Vita at $120 is a great deal.

I just want to buy Vita games and play them on my PS3. I mean if the whole point of hardware is to move software units isn't a sale a sale? I'll end up getting a Vita eventually, but in the meantime I wouldn't mind being able to play the new Uncharted.

Yeah, pretty much, the smaller games where they'd be the same price anyway. Damn, I hope Retro City Rampage does this.

As for the Crossbuy, a little common sense would tell you that it's going to be "buy the PS3 version get the Vita version free". They're going to give you both for the $60 PS3 price, not the $40 Vita price.
Don't look at me, I'm just going by information posted in the official blog.

The problem isn't limited play, it's no play. There aren't any games that are out that I have any interest in.

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. Otherwise everyone would just buy the cheaper Vita versions. Besides, they are likely going to be download codes for the Vita, so it makes sense that you'd buy the PS3 version.

EU Blog finally updated. Said he got his facts wrong. You would think with major announcements like this that they would have a fact sheet or a proof reader for the blog to prevent misinformation on an official level.

None? I think we had this discussion before, but the library isn't that limited, current and upcoming. To each their own, though. But none? I have a hard time believing that.

All I'm saying is it's being very dismissive of a pretty good lineup for a six month old platform. If you compare what's on the Vita now to nearly any other console launch six months later you'd be hard pressed to find something better, especially when considering what's coming in the next 4 months.

The existence of one franchise on a platform is hardly a worthwhile way to measure said platforms value. Sure, it'd be great if there was a KH game on the Vita, but past that you'd probably want to play other games.

Going through the list of released and announced games on Wiki, I did find one that I am interested in, LittleBigPlanet. But seeing as I haven't even played through the PSP one yet and that it'll be $10 or $15 by the time Kingdom Hearts comes out, I can't justify buying a system for it.

Considering the typical delay seen with Japanese games getting released outside their native country citing the Japanese release date for the Vita isn't exactly relevant when we're speaking in a Western context. If you import games and speak Japanese, sure, but I doubt many here do.

I'm only interested if the original team is working on it. None of this secondnhand dev stuff. Look at TearAway, a game done right. Exclusive, new IP from an AAA first party team made from the ground up just for Vita. Now Sony needs to do this 10 more times, drop the Memory card bullshit, and pack in a game for $200 and this thing will fly off shelves.

Japanese are the biggest dev supporters of portable systems. It is 8 months since launch. That is how long Eastern or Western developers have had final hardware to make games for it.

Except LBP on the Vita, by all accounts, is actually a damn good game. A different studio may be heading it, but that doesn't automatically equate to an inferior product.

So now we're counting when devs had final hardware? Really? Launch date is relevant to people when the launch happens in their territory, especially when a language barrier would make importing most games counter-intuitive. There are games out in Japan right now for the Vita that I'd love to play, but they won't be out here for a few months. Thus is the nature of the release cycle, especially for niche games.
