Oh my god, Wild Wild West...

I went to see that movie on my very first date. It didn't help.

It's okay. I feel the same way about Last Action Hero: if you don't like it, it means you hate fun and laughter and trying to see how high you can go on the swings during recess.

The Invisible.

Thanks to the Drive-in ADD and I visit, we often go for the first movie and hope the second is decent enough. Our hops is often wasted. The Invisible was one of those times.

It essentially ignores the second one anyway.

On the hey-I-liked-that-one side of the thread, Deep Impact. Though I never saw it in theaters, I've seen it on satellite/cable a bunch of times. Liked it a lot more than Armageddon, which I think I've seen once or twice.

For I-hated-it-too, School of Rock. Though fortunately I never paid good money to see it.

You know, I'm pretty sure I did see Kazaam in theaters. I was going to say I was too young to really recognize how bad it was, but looking at the release date, at about 14, I probably should have.

Second place would go to, I don't know, Mr. Deeds? Which wasn't horrible, just your standard Adam Sandler-brand comedy. Maybe Spider-Man 3? Which was kind of a mess. The Star Wars prequels I never really felt that bad about, on first viewing.
The Weatherman is one of my favorite movies of the 2000s.

While I do scratch my head about you mentioning V for Vendetta, I was surprised someone mentioned Last Action Hero. It really is one of Arnold's best and a great love letter to the dumb fun action movie genre.

What did you like about it? I just found it filled with sadness and depression. "Life sucks, it's always going to suck, you may as well get used to it" was what I got out of it.

Maybe trailers are partly to blame, as they led me to believe that it would be a kind of dark comedy (think Wes Anderson), but there wasn't anything funny about it. (Or amusing. Or interesting. Or novel.) But even without the trailers, my feelings about the movie wouldn't have changed much. I just probably never would have paid to see it.

I too liked The Last Action Hero. Also, Deep Impact is, in fact, way better than Armageddon. I still don't think it is a very good movie, but it's not bad. Feels a bit low budget for some reason, though.

I tend to be very picky with my movie selections and don't go to the movies too often, so my choices are limited. I would say Cabin Fever back in 2002 or maybe 2003; whenever it came out.

I also hated Kill Bill Volume 2, despite liking the first movie.

Deep Impact is definitely the better film out of the two asteroid films that came out that year. I'm guessing it was a Fox film? All of their movies feel low budget. I have no idea why, but I would guess it has something to do with the film stock or cameras that they use.

[comicbookguy]I believe you'll find that Deep Impact featured a comet, not an asteroid.[/comicbookguy]

Definitely Battlefield Earth. We left after ten minutes and snuck into Mission Impossible 2 and that movie seemed AMAZINGLY GOOD after the dreck that was Travolta in dreadlocks.

And MI2 is awful.

Worst. Movie. EVER! Fuck that movie, and fuck Eli Roth. Want to see a good flesh eating disease movie? Watch the direct-to-video sequel: Cabin Fever 2, made by the extremely talented Ti West (director of House of the Devil). That dude took Eli Roth to fucking school with that sequel.

Ooh, I just thought of one. It's not as bad as the earlier ones I mentioned, but it still was painful: Star Trek Insurrection
