Firefox Slowing Down
...is this browser getting slower and slower with each release or is it just me and my devices? It seems to browse okay once open but loading has become a slow bitch on all of my PC's. I have turned off extensions and that doesn't seem to be the problem.

It sounds like something on your end. My Firefox loads about as fast as my Chrome, that is to say in about one second.

I've had my Firefox profile since Firefox 3.0, keep it synced between 3 places using Firefox Sync, and each release only gets faster for me. It actually starts up faster than Chrome for me, despite my extensions, and runs faster on my Android phone than Android Chrome does. Mozilla's really put in a lot of good stuff.

Try creating a new profile and working from a brand new profile. This worked for me before on an old profile. Must be some crap that builds up.

Each Firefox update breaks something for me, and then the next update comes along, fixes what was broken, and then usually breaks something else. The update before last made it so that I couldn't use the volume buttons on my keyboard while watching Youtube videos (bizarre, I know), and then the latest update fixed that issue.
I actually find it somewhat amusing. Every time there's an update I'm curious to see what they've fixed and what they've screwed up. Firefox is still the best browser I've used, even with a few hiccups here and there.

I'm a big firefox fan, but Flash is what's really irking me majorly. I continually get crashes from it.
The Steam Movie Maker Thread? I can't even visit it anymore. Crashed my whole damn system with how badly Firefox got hung up.

Firefox has been getting slower with me as well. New profile may help. But the random Flash crashes have been annoying as well. Chrome has been a little slow as of late too.

Is it Flash causing Firefox to lose focus of the current tab all the time?
I recently tried going back from Chrome to Firefox at work, due to a few nice things Firefox does that Chrome doesn't. But this focus issue is really annoying.

You can even just disable flash completely from Firefox to have a much much faster browsing experience. Add adblock plus to that list, and your FF will fly.

Firefox has built-in click-to-load-Flash ability, now. Just navigate to about:config, search for plugin, and find the "clicktoplay" option or whatever it's called. (there's only about 15 plugin options) n.b.: it works on ALL plugins, not just Flash.
It works similarly to the extension that's been around forever. For sites like YouTube, Fx will show a plugin icon in the address bar you can click, which brings up a dialogue box with a dropdown that lets you select "Always load plugins from this site."
