Starting with 4.1, Chrome is the default browser.

Chrome has slightly better rendering, is somewhat faster, but is more buggy.

Also, Chrome is supposed to become the new default browser in Jelly Bean IIRC.

Chrome felt a lot faster to me. In the time I used it on a tablet it seemed to crash less than Dolphin did.

Also, ran into my first issue. My Message app sits on loading. It will not come up no matter how long I let it sit there.

Ah, I figured they would do that eventually.

I download Chrome and am giving it a whirl. So far it's alright, but I'm not seeing it as the second coming or anything. For one thing, "Swipe to change tabs" is not working. It also doesn't seem to be any faster than the default browser, but I've only used it for a few minutes.

Edit - Upon comparing the two directly, I've noticed one major difference - in Chrome, I can read Colony of Gamers without even zooming in. In the default browser the text is far too small. That's a big plus for Chrome.

Chrome's handling of tabs blows everything else out of the water for me.

I like how it handles them overall, but I wish that the swiping part worked. It seems very inconsistent.

It's also given me a couple of graphical glitches so far, which I fixed by reloading the particular page. Odd, but not the end of the world.

I imagine Chrome is the same on iOS... I swipe from outside the screen, then across it, and it does the tab change. It seemed inconsistent until I learned to start just outside the edge of the screen.

Yeah, it took a minute to learn that. Start your swipe from outside the actual screen.

I had the same issue until I was able to get to a place with a good signal, now it's fine.

My problem right now is that I can't download Chrome. I've tried numerous times, and I keep getting one of two messages: either insufficient memory (which isn't the case) or package file invalid. I'll have to try it over wifi when I get home.

Oh, and I hate the new YouTube widget. It's awful.

I am loving the S3. Battery life is amazing. I can go a whole work day losing only 15% with some mild use and no cell coverage at work. Even on days of moderate use, maybe I am down to 70%.

I do have a complaint about it though, and it is big enough for me to mention it. The phone does not quickly get cell service. My home and my work are without cell coverage, the commute on the other hand has good service. When I leave the house I must do a restart or put the phone in Airplane mode and then take it out, in order for the phone to see cell service. Usually it grabs the 3G signal quick, a few times the Airplane mode was not enough and a restart was required.

Not a big deal overall for most I assume. An annoyance for me though. I am very appreciative of the 40 second restart.

After some emails with the company, they apologized and said "It looks like that's the only Samsung battery we have in stock."

Then why the fuck do you advertise that you have the 1800 mAh? WHY!?

Fucking amateurs.

They're emailing me a return label.

Anyone else having cracked cases on their S3? I noticed a 1/2 crack on one of the corners a week or so ago, and just noticed today, one on the side. Right now, they seem to be cosmetic only. I guess this is "going around".
http://www.knowyourmobile.com/blog/1..._problems.html. The phone seems to rock, so I can handle a very minor cosmetic blemish (unlike the S1's complete lack of GPS capabilities)

One of the reasons I bought a case for it quickly. My screen protectors should be here today as well.

Edit: I did pop it out to check and it is fine.

So far the Evo V is proving to be the best phone I've ever owned.

Honestly, the battery life isn't great, but the performance is solid, the screen is gorgeous, and I'm even growing to tolerate the Sense UI for some of the extra apps and features it adds.

Also, the camera is the best one I have ever had in a phone. It's clear, it's good quality, it's not grainy or muddy, it captures colors well, and is on the whole better by far than any of my other cameras.

Eye strain inducing. I mean, you can see the 3d effect, sorta, but it's like one of those magic eye things.

It's pretty much a useless gimmick EXCEPT for the part where in order to get it to work at all they had to put a lot of work into the camera sensor quality, so it has a bonus effect for regular 2d stuff.

I have the exact opposite experience as J. I don't know if they changed the cameras for the V from the 3D though.

EDIT: I should clarify. My problem with the 2D pictures is the constant need for tweaking to wring the best out of the camera. If I could have 3 or so saved settings under image adjustments for different situations I would love the camera. The auto setting can't keep up with the white balances and medium to low light situations result in atrocious pictures. A point and shoot shouldn't have to be treated like a DSLR. It should take decent pictures in any situation.

EDIT 2: I wish there was an easier way to share my 3D pictures. I really do love taking them. There are some absolute lovely ones I took of my daughter playing in a kiddie pool.
