What are your Favourite Movie Scenes?
Just got this crazy notion to post a thread to the community to see what their favourite movie scenes of all time are. Just on a whim, after watching Full Metal Jacket last night that movie has so many intense scenes and an idea spurned on from other forums I frequent it seemed like a good topic for discussion.
So I will start things off with a haunting scene that always give me chills to the bone.

That's a good one Pomeroy...
As for me, one of my top 5 movies is The Big Lebowski, and this is one of my favorite scenes: |

One of my all-time favourites. I didn't even need to think on the question as this just popped into my head.

For my 2nd entry I'm gonna go with another scene from Full Metal Jacket.. The soundtrack for this movie is amazing. It really helps to set the scene. Pyle is a total section 8.

![]() Helicopter scene (Jump into the fire). "I'm funny how?" scene. "Go get your shinebox" scene. So many greats.

Ah yes, that beautiful swell of Binary Sunset when the entire orchestra picks it up... Nearly brings tears to my eyes.
In fact, any number of John Williams-scored scenes will do that. But Binary Sunset and this one are the most powerful to me. "They're moving in herds.... They DO move in herds." |

I've posted this once before, but it seems appropriate. This scene sticks in my mind every time I decide to watch it. There's just something about the setting of the dance and the meaning behind it that grab my attention. Very powerful and strangely entrancing.

I wanted to post both the final speech from Casablanca and the Brachiosaur from Jurassic Park, but of course they were already taken.
12 Angry Men is one of my all-time favorite movies--every other scene has Henry Fonda bitch-slapping logic into the other jurors; for example, the legendary "It's possible" scene: but the other jurors have equally awesome moments, such as making a racist prick break down: or putting an apathetic jackass in his place: Also, one of my favorite horror films ever, The Haunting, has a great example of how important the beginning of a movie is for setting the tone: In terms of more modern stuff, though, you can't get much better than Samwise Gamgee, the most badass gardener of all time:
