That's basically how I feel. I plug in my phone every night when I go to bed, so as long as it lasts to that point I'm happy. My last phone would regularly need to be plugged in by early evening, so that was unacceptable. Obviously I'm going to keep an eye on anything that hogs the battery on my new phone, but as long as it's not near death before I'm ready to plug it in, then I'm not too worried.

I'm usually pretty similar. I charge the phone every night, and while I'm in the car, and if I needed to I could while I'm at work. It's only when I have a day of work on location when I am constantly on the phone that I get anywhere near running the battery down, and even then I could still plug it in briefly to get me by.

My lifestyle doesn't require lots of battery luckily, so it's never been a big issue for me. If I was spending lots of time on mass transit or in classes or something I could see where it would be much more of an issue.

JB is just starting to roll out to Nexus S devices. I'm going to wait for a full Deodexed ROM before I update.

Argh, I tried twice and the phone would not activate! Turns on, says it will not Activate, and just goes for like 10 minutes before it stops and says it failed.

You could manually try activating it on your carrier's website. That's what I did when I got my new phone.

Yea, I did a web search and ended up doing that, but alas, service at work is horrible, I may head to a better area during lunch!

pull the 4g sim card and use a clean shirt or soft fabric to wipe the gold contacts. then carefully put it back in without touching the contacts, a fingerprint on those will mess with them.

Got Jellybean installed on my Nexus S. Not quite as buttery as it is on the GalNex, but it's still very nice. Google Now voice search is very accurate. It'll be interesting to see how the automated notifications work (my wife opted not to turn those on on her GalNex).

All set. Just had to drive nearly all the way home from work on my lunch break, but she activated by itself. It is so smooth.

Fuck, you guys. Something is wrong with the charging mechanism on my phone and I don't know what. The little slide cover for the USB port snapped off a long time ago but everything was fine until recently. I have to hold the charger in the weirdest positions to get the right angle for the phone to start charging.

I ordered a stand-alone charger and replacement battery but don't know how long it'll take them to get here.

I kind of need my phone to exist here in LA. this is nonsense.

If it is micro-USB, you can connect it to someone elses phone to see if the charger, because it's usually the charger. Otherwise, the solders is either borked on the connecter or worse, one or more of the pins are broken

Just picked up a galaxy S 3, I got up at about 11:30am today and with moderate usage( 5-10 pictures take, about 3 minutes worth of video, 30-45 minutes of browsing while taking a deuce, and other misc stuff) my battery is currently sitting at 43%( it is currently 2:45am), meanwhile, I had my old HTC EVO 3d fully charged this morning, I did absolutely nothing on the phone the whole day just hit 15% battery life. It is kind of amazing to me how much of a difference a years worth of technology can improve the usability and battery life of a phone.

Dammit. I can get a phone upgrade in October, but my battery is starting to crap out on me. While checking the stats on it, I saw that it goes down a percent of battery every minute. I charged it up to 100% (because it died sometime last night) and it started up with 91%. This battery is done. Gotta go get a new one. First, to see which ones will fit in it, because I might as well get a bigger one.

That is tough, depending on the carrier, you may be able to ask for an early upgrade. Especially if you go for a nice new shiny phone.

I am loving the S3. I really like that I can simply restart the phone, just my clicking the power button. And the 40 second restart is fantastic.

I put it through its paces Saturday. My day started around 5:30pm. Used it as a GPS for an hour plus drive to get to my race. Then I used it for my 5k race with Nike+ with GPS again. Used it again for GPS for about 20 minutes. Took video and photos throughout the day. I then used it to text and email throughout the day as well as four phone calls. It was down to about 19% around 7pm. Only went down to 10% by 11pm with very little use, just some texting.

Edit: My local Bestbuy did not have any good cases, even the Otterbox Commuter in stock. And of course the associate's answer to my question of when it will be in as well as the Defender was; "soon".

I just bought a bigger battery off Amazon. $15 sounded reasonable, and it reviewed very well with the epic.

My Nexus S was updated to 4.1.1 on Saturday. So far it is damn nice and the battery life improved noticeably.

The HTC software is hard to get used to, but the screen is gorgeous and it is proper fast.

That's the re-branded EVO 3D for Virgin, right? I've had the 3D for over year now, I love the phone.
