Well that was ironic.
I've waited this long, 2 more days will hardly be an issue. Price to pay for ideal experiences, no? |

Well Ep2 was awesome. Got through it in two sittings and it works fantastically on Linux as well!
Definitely best game I've played so far this year.

It took me about 2 1/2 hours, and I wasn't rushing. The second chapter took me about the same amount of time. I've been hard on TellTale before. I got bored with the Sam & Max titles, and the puzzles in Monkey Island were inelegant and I haven't had the desire to finish that series. That's a shame for me because I loved both of those series back in the LucasArts days. I'm glad I gave them another chance, because they definitely got this one right. I have very few complaints (unskippable "Next Time/Previously On" segments, they won't let me just tell everyone about my conviction), but they're minor. The first chapter was interesting and full of promise, and the second chapter was incredibly gripping and tense. They really don't let you walk the line and try to keep everyone happy. There's a wedge being driven and you'd better choose which side you're on. Right now, I'm sticking with Kenny. He's had my back, and I feel bad that the game mis-interpreted my actions in the drug store as being Larry-friendly. Looks like I wasn't the only one with that issue. I am eagerly looking forward to the next chapter and hope this won't be the only season. My decisions so far: Last edited by Ink Asylum; 07-19-2012 at 07:35 AM. |

Yeah. She's adorable and much more endearing than Carl.

The 15 hrs is what my save said I believe. Maybe I left the game on and walked away? I don't remember doing that and I know I didn't fall asleep on it. I might of been stuck in the drugstore for a bit of time. I also made the same decisions as you in your spoiler. Agree too with your analysis. I can't wait for the rest of the episodes to come out.

Even if you explored every nook and cranny, talked to everyone as much as possible, and got stuck on a few of the puzzles I can't see it taking more than 5 hours.

There's one specific moment with her at dinnertime that the game makes very clearly is a huge deal, but I don't know if I have the heart to see what happens the other way on any playthrough.
The people making the TV show should be playing this game, because it's superior in every way.

Purps hasn't quite mastered adventure game logic. He still thinks like a normal, rational person does. That's why it took him 15 hours
![]() I just played through both episodes this week after grabbing the game on the Steam sale. Love it so far. I have been trying to do right by Clementine and refrain from killing whenever possible, but I'm also not sugarcoating things and lying to her. I want to give her hope but not blind her to reality. Oh, and I wasn't able to warn them at dinner fast enough. Well, that, and they're all just stupid people who didn't listen to what I was yelling at them. That was interesting...

I should of blogged my time through The Longest Journey. Getting through some of those puzzles/game logic was brutal. Quote:

To the second half of your "wondering"...I don't think so. I think that was the answer I chose.

@Spigot: might want to spoiler tag that. It alludes to something that will click if someone is at that point in the game. Granted, I even was getting the HINT HINT but just in case...

There is no right answer, okay?
By trying to figure out if there was a different/better way to do things, you may see the framework and lack of actual differences. It's like Mass Effect in that regard, it's all good until you start looking at the decision trees. I don't know how major a spoiler it is Santa, as that episode was hinting toward that the whole time, I just kept going "nah, it's too obvious, I bet if I go and try and find out, they will not be bad and then I'd fuck things up." I like how the game hints that Kenny isn't that good, what with his casual racism and constantly going "gotta put my family first, yep" instead of really being a member of the group. That said, I fucking hate Larry, he is a total prick and toxic to the whole fucking group, and you know.. everything in ep1 was due to him, and I'm shocked there were no repercussions for what he did at the end of the drug store. I play Lee like how I'd act in his situation, and I hope it's the way that is the best. I feel this game is closer to RPG than Adventure, as in many cases there is no correct answer, just choices. |

I fucking love this game. So far playing it loyal to Kenny, but we'll see how it all turns out.

One of the best compliments towards the game is simply the summary screen that pops up at the end, which when I saw it showed that every major branching point was split nearly 50/50 in how people made their choices.

The only one I saw heavily skewed was lieing to Hershel, and when you had to pick who to save as far as the second time it happens in Episode one.
