I've watched a few episodes of Longmire because Katee Sackhoff, and it's ok. Will keep watching for a while and see if it holds my interest.

Anyone else watched this show and thought the main character looks kind of like Mitt Romney? As in he could play him in the movie?

I watched it a few weeks back. I remember thinking I didn't really care about the plot at all, and it was a pretty fun movie that didn't take itself too seriously.

I saw Corialinus last night. Fiennes was absolutely splendid and Butler, who I don't normally like that much made a decent stab at it too. Absolute highlight for me was watching John Snow as the Greek Chorus-esque newsreader. I love that guy

Just watched The Hurt Locker.

I liked it; thought Renner did a good job. There seemed to be a few false starts with subplots that didn't really go anywhere, but in general I liked the story. I kept expecting there to be a more overarching plot involving the various bad guys they encountered, but I think it worked better like it was, because it never got fantastical like a typical Hollywood action movie. It was just a squad in a warzone doing their job and having shit happen to them. It was refreshing in that way.

Wrath of the Titans.

Crap, but entertaining spectacle nonetheless.

Conan The Barbarian. I wouldn't say it was bad. But it took mediocre to the next level.

I've watched a ton of movies lately, so I'll keep my thoughts short and sweet.

Young Adult - Interesting, but there's absolutely zero character progression. She starts off horrible and doesn't change a bit, which left me feeling unfulfilled.

High Road - Surprisingly serious, especially for a UCB produced film. Still enjoyable, especially for an improvised script.

Freak Dance - Funniest movie I've seen since Black Dynamite. It's ridiculous in all the right ways and much more in tune with what I'd expect from a UCB film.

21 Jump Street - I'm starting to like Channing Tatem (sp?). The whole thing was formulaic, but its still pretty funny. The expected cameo was perfect.

John Carter - Surprisingly good. It almost had a Lexx or Dune vibe to it. If they'd just included the subtitle "Warlord of Mars", it'd probably be the hit they were hoping for.

The Rum Diaries - Not what I'd expected, but still an enjoyable romp. I like how you can clearly see different sides of Thompson's personality in the characters. Plus, the main actress? Good god damn!

Wanderlust - Incredibly funny at parts, a little groan inducing at others. There's a funny backlash against the movie by hippie haters on the net, but even as a bleeding heart liberal, the life style is laughable. Surprisingly heart warming as well.

I've also watched a good chunk of Penn and Teller's Bullshit, as well as the first season of High School of the Dead and a little Darker Than Black, on recommendation from this thread. All are enjoyable in their own way.

I really enjoyed Coriolanus. As you say, both leads did a pretty great job. Vanessa Redgrave was fantastic as his mother. James Nesbitt was fun to watch, too.

It also showed me the world I want to live in: one where news casts and round table discussions are conducted in iambic pentameter.

Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance - FUCKING AWESOME! And that's from someone who turned the movie off half way through. There were moments of greatness early on, mostly from the whole Crank director team's amazing camera work, but Cage was bugging me and I turned it off during the first big action scene. Boy, was that a mistake. If I'd only waited another 30 seconds, I would've never turned that dial. If you've seen the movie, you probably know the moment I'm referring to. Thankfully, a good review encouraged me to try again and I soaked up the rest happily. The last chase scene is one of the coolest action sequences I've ever witnessed.

You might struggle with the storyline and some of the acting, you might struggle with Cage being so damn Cage-like, you might dislike the mediocre casting for the villain. Trust me, you just have to suffer through it. Once things get going, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

The new Conan: The Barbarian. Liked it. Even though it was awesome to see Ron Perlman show up as Daddy Conan I would have preferred if he were a bit more barbariany and less touchy feely. I also felt the Riddle of Steel could have had more emphasis. Otherwise, it was lots of fun.

Immortals. Perfect follow up to Conan. Was enjoying a mediocre them until I watched Goon. That was a pretty good movie. I cringed a couple times during the final fight.

Sorkin makes popcorn entertainment for New Yorker subscribers. I mean I am at the edge of my seat. It's like a car chase scene, but instead of cars, there are dialog.

Funny, that's exactly how Jeff Daniels described Sorkin's dialog during his recent NPR interview. And it's completely correct.
