I agree with Daredevil though, especially the Director's Cut. But I'm biased since Daredevil is my favorite Marvel hero. |

Yeah, the absence of the Daily Bugle was disappointing, but on some level I can understand it, Parker's still in High School. Plus, there was PLENTY going on without cramming yet another component into the origin story.
Besides, those motherfuckers are going to have a tough time recasting J. Jonah Jameson.

It was OK. Better than First Class, Thor, and Captain America, but honestly I though the first 2 Spiderman movies were better. The only real improvements was casting.

They need to take a cue from the new Spiderman cartoon (but only that and nothing else) and turn the Bugle into a Fox News-type channel.

A reboot? It used the exact same locations (Xavier's mansion is the same), same origin for Magneto (even used part of the opening sequence for X1), same actor for Wolverine... That's not a reboot. That's a prequel.

Let's just say it was a soft reboot. They'll probably head back to current times after Second Class with the new continuity.
Also, even with 3D and Imax boosted ticket prices, Amazing did significantly less money than the first three Spidey flicks. Outside of that context, it still did a huge amount of money. |

I dunno, JK Simmons doesn't seem like the type to go with the studio over the director. I heard that Raimi had a falling-out with the studio and that often means that the actors have to decide who to go with.
I hope I'm wrong, I seriously walked out of the first Spidey movie going on and on about how perfect JJJ was. EXACTLY how I pictured him from the comic books.

All your lists suck because you don't have Unbreakable.

I'd rather watch Dolph's Punisher than go near Unbreakable again.

I saw it and it was definitely an OK superhero movie. I didn't feel cheated out of my money, but I also don't feel like I really need to see it again.
I generally liked the story and how they tweaked the origin story, and I liked the casting of Aunt May and Uncle Ben. There were some things that detracted a little, like I really like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it is disappointing that this movie couldn't participate. Hopefully Disney will work out the rights with Sony to bring Spidey back to the rest of the guys. While it didn't come into consideration while evaluating the movie, it is odd to have Spidey in NY, but no Stark Tower and no explanation of why Ironman didn't fly in, shoot the hell outta the lizard and save the day.

I don't get all the Unbreakable love either. I thought it was a pretty straight forward superhero origin story with an extremely predictable and anti-climactic ending. I definitely wouldn't compare it to Dolph's Punisher, but I don't see any greatness either.

Eh, I was being facetious when comparing it to Punisher honestly (though I'd watch it more for sure even if it is the worst of the two since I think it knows it), but what you touched on is exactly how I feel. The ending was so awful that I actually expected a Director's Cut that put the real ending in.
