So we are taking replays of games from this year too? If that's the case then I've also played through Mass Effect 3 again thus wrapping up all the chevos for it. I also wrapped up another run of Mass Effect 2 for the 6th time to have a perfect import for a Male Sheppard in ME3.

As for new games, I finished Lollipop Chainsaw this past weekend and liked it.

Kirby's Return to Dreamland with two of my kids. Was a blast. Great level design and very cool "ultimate" powerups.

I'm old now.

Okay, I swear this is the last time I'll gripe about this game, as I've been very down on it but others seem to be enjoying it a great deal.

1) your abilities: I still consider the original Crackdown the pinnacle of superhero sandbox games. They did a great job of letting you level your abilities and allowing you to do something new as you advanced. You could jump higher, lift bigger things explode stuff in hilarious OTT ways... In GR, you start and end with the exact same abilities. You can level stuff up, but it just makes things last longer, move a bit faster or do a bit more damage

2) the game never really gives you anything to do with your abilities. For the most part you're flying about a big empty box with a few challenges to do. Challenges that rely heavily on the rather broken combat or speed mechanics. It seems the most interesting thing the debs thought of was to take your abilities away from you again and again and again.

3) Combat. Awful. For the majority of the game you only have one attack you can really use, which is the gravity kick. Even fully powered up, it's pernickety enough to only home in on exactly what you aim at, but fuzzy enough to miss 90% of the time unless that thing is moving stock still. Even then you'd better hope that the enemy doesnt have wings or any other flailing limbs, because they can get in the way and make otherwise sure fire hits glance off. Frustrating and rubbish

4) The main character Kat is basically a walking vagina who seems to exist solely to be macked on by guys and generally accosted by the general public to do random tasks. "hey Kat, get my letter!" "hey Kat, find my girlfriend!" "Hey Kat, wipe my ass!" they then have the audacity to have her criticize someone else for taking orders in the military.

Crackdown was the pure essence of sandbox. They just forgot to add in the game part.

Was that the DS game? I tried to play through it, but the crap production values and the turn-based Hercules world turned me off.

Yes, it was the 2nd DS game. I gave it a pass on the production values since it's a reworked cell phone game that they weren't even planning on releasing here. I appreciated that they were trying to break up the gameplay even though it was to mixed results. I enjoyed the whole series of games but it's my second least favorite game.
